I hate going to the doc because of the expense. When I started coughing to the point of black outs I had to go and of course the first words were quit smoking. I'm on the mend also but my bronchial tubes are RIPPED from all that coughing. Those poor little tubes are in bad shape. One of the reasons I coughed so much is that when the cig makers changed their formula, I was allergic to one of the new additives. It's supposed to be a broncho-dialtor, only to me, it closes them. Like yourself the nicdemon keeps telling me that I'm all better and can smoke now. I had one cig and that was really enough. See, if I started smoking again, I'd be right back where I was and that simply isn't an option. Truly, smoking and coughing like I was, was just completely embarassing. I can take a lot but that kind of humiliation was just too much.

Princess - keep reminding yourself that the only reason you are on the mend is that you stopped smoking in the first place. Nicodemon is quite tricky, so be prepared to kick his ash! i went to my dr. yesterday to have my lungs and broncitis checked out. my dr. asked me if i had quit. i said yes. she checked my lungs out and everything seems to be mending. i also had a talk with her about emphysema which i just found out 9 days ago that im in the early stages of it. guess what? i got home and after finding out i wa getting better nicodemon stepped in and started telling me your better now u can have a smoke. i fought it and eventally i won. its surprising how junky thinking will step in and try to trp you up. i realize that its because of my thinking im in the problems im in. if i take1 puff it will probably send me back into full pledged smoking agan. i dont want that. please dont do it. its not worth it My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 189 Amount Saved: $29.25 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 8 Mins: 20 Seconds: 46
