Hi 1939Bear, You have done a fab step towards quitting by coming on here, when i quit a few weeks ago i joined this group and it has really helped me, knowing we are all in the same boat and the support you get is fab Everyone is different but i think we all have roughly the same stuggles of giving up smoking, i think alot of it at my stage is in the mind now, the craving really have subsided but sometimes when ive had a meal or get in my car, a fag pops in to my head. Not that i want it but its what ive done for 16 yrs. I have stopped thinking about smoking alot less now too which is great. A few tips ive got is I have a big pack of mints in the car Ive bought some fat books to read if its slow at work The mornings where the worst for me, so i deliberatley get up late so i dont have time to stop and think about having a cig You too will find little things that will help you, take care Donna x My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/7/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 15 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 311 Amount Saved: 75 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 3 Mins: 38 Seconds: 34

Congratulations Bear on your first Smoke Free Day ! From one long time smoker to another, let's see if we can't help improve on that 6% quit statistic after one year! Good Luck PRB taking it one day at a time. You have it Bear..... This site is therapy for me. How many times has the doctor told me that I needed to join a support group for one reason or another. They are wonderful, everyone siad. But I never could bring myself to go and sit and talk, face to face, with people with the same problems. For fear that I would still be singled out. Here there is none of that. We do this online, stay somewhat 'annonymous', and are not judged. We are helped along the way, we have the support of everyone here, no matter what we are going through. So, keep fighting the good fight and just stick around. We hear ya....we are there, were there, or are goiong....So here, you really are never alone. Early morning musings (4:30 am) I refuse to take some drugs because of their side effects hell I won,t even take an aspirin unless I really have too.Yet i,ll indulge in 2 chemicals that are addictive, hurt me physically and financial and I need motivation to quit ???? I think I need my head read !!!! This site is better than therapy. Bear.
