Well, I made it over twenty four hours. I didn't have to work last night so I slept, and slept, and slept. I wonderful if I sleep most of these days being smoke free, will the withdrawals last longer? They are strong right now but I kept my son with me when I went to the store. I visualize, I know this sounds weird, a cigarette everywhere. I can smell stale smoke everywhere which I don't like but can't wash it away yet. I am just so tired. Are these all part of withdrawal. Sometimes it feels like I have lost a part of me. I am hanging in there. Hopefully they will call me off work again tonight. Though I really do need to face that challenge too. Just get it over with. I will write again either today or for Day 3. Hi Monica. Congrats on 24 hours. It took me over a month of off and on trying to stop to get past 24 hours. It's a great first milestone. I, too, was very tired this past week - came home and laid down or even napped every chance I got. Bit more energy today, but still feeling very lazy. Monica, I can relate with you on the visualation of cigs. I wrote a post about cig icons running through my head during the second week of my quit. I pretended to blow them up. I figured if they were going to run around, I'd just play with them. It's all normal. Hang in there, sleep as much as you need, and celebrate each smoke-free day!! Whew, I'm going through a bit of a down time as well. Scoot over...I need a nap, too! Hang in there...it does get better. I slept a whole lot at the beginning of my quit as well. I think you're body knows what it needs right now, so follow it's advice! Monica, Know if you sleep through your withdrawals they won't last longer. Your body maybe tired for a variety of reasons: * Your body is healing * Increased blood flow & oxygen * Withdrawing from toxins * Nicotine is a stimulant, it's now gone and you're now tired. Don't worry, this is temporary and it passes. Right now focus on doing anything and everything that might make you feel better. If you're tired, sleep the whole day away if you can. Monica.....REWARD yourself for every period like this that you pass through. The early days of my quit I was consumed with the smell of stale smoke.....it was like it was coming from my very pores!! it was awful. and being tired of part of it. Be GOOD to yourself through this time....eat regularly and snack often....rest when possible....Pamper yourself!
