I have tried so many different ways to quit smoking. Hypnosis, patches, herbal remedies, gum, inhalers, and all of them worked until I started smoking again !! I figured that all I was doing was feeding m,y adiction for much longer than I actually needed to. This time cold turkey. Got the real bad cravings out of the way quickly and got on wit it. This way is workiong for me this time..hopefully the last time I will have to quit. But most importantly is the honest desire to quit becase without it you will fail regardless of what else you may take. Be honest be strong take nicodemon by the horns and beat him down. What works "best" is wanting to quit "more" than you want to smoke. All the aids will help "some"..(they are weaning tools when used as directed)..but they aren't magic bullets any more than cold turkey is. If you "want" it...you will reach out and take it....you will make the quit work in your own personal way and you will find the freedom in your own time frame. I quit with patches....hubby quit cold turkey....daughter used Zyban for the first month....soninlaw used Zyban and patches together...our son used artificial smokeless tobacco. we are all quit....and there is that so important "bottom line". Do what works My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1793 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 71,733 Amount Saved: $10220.1 Life Gained: Days: 233 Hrs: 21 Mins: 56 Seconds: 18
