I am so very ashamed to say this, but I have smoked! I have even bought a pack of 10. My cravings went through the roof when I finished on the patches, and I controlled them for a week, but then I went out on Saturday night and was a little drunk. I took a few drags from someone's cigarette, thinking that i would be ok. I then got through sunday (although the cravings were tough), but yesterday I succumbed. I smoked 2 yesterday, and have had 1 this morning. My head hurts, my breath stinks, and my heart feels heavy. I cannot tell my husband or my daughter, as they will be so very disappointed in me, and I really do not want to let them down. Please can I ask anyone who is out there to offer me their support right now. I am trying to view this as a lapse, and not something that I am going to continue doing. I have no intntion of smoking again today, but that is easy for me to say when I still have nicotine pumping through my blood. I am frightened of when it wears off. Please help me... Ok.. doesn't seem you are on IM.. Hon, THROW OUT the rest of the cigs! Don't beat yourself up too badly ok? You had a lapse.. it's done, it's over with if you just throw out the rest.. STOMP ON THEM..FLUSH THEM..ANYTHING..Just get rid of them! Take a deep breath ..come on hon, breathe and reset your brain and start fresh! As long as you've learned from this lapse that's what is important. Now - get back to your quit and stay strong! You have to shut off all of your pop up blockers and you have to be using Internet Explorer to run the IM. Any other questions or problems contact the SSC tech's. Good girl! You threw the rest out and now settle down .. like I said take some deep breaths.. Look at your quit meter! You are doing so well.. Move forward sweetie! Don't look back.. learn from this lapse! Pick yourself up, dust it off, and jump back on that wagon! I quit in September, then made a major move...I went through a major stressful situation, and I fell off for a month...but, when I finally got out on my own...I laid them down again! I also found a craving tools that really works...it's Wrigley's *EXTRA* Green Apple gum! Try it! And, remeber...If at first you don't succed...TRY, TRY, TRY again! Clare Just remembered what I did Nico gum 2 mg gives a small shot of nicotine quite quickly and kills the crave. taste is not good so you wont use a lot. I had 2 pieces a day Phil My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 204 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,289 Amount Saved: 1071 Life Gained: Days: 40 Hrs: 20 Mins: 26 Seconds: 31

Clare, There is only one person who can help you and that is you. You made the choice to smoke, you could have said to yourself: No, I'm not going to smoke. It's up to you and you alone. You decide whether you smoke or not. Try to change your mind about smoking. No situation is that bad that you need to smoke. You didn't smoke for 57 days, you don't have to smoke for the rest of your life. Good luck.
