I really cant say anything different from the rest except for keep up the good work....I am in recovery for other things and today is my 1 day of no smoking...But what I have learned from being in recovery is when you have a lapse remember what lead up to it and learn from it....You already took the first step by telling us so we can help get back on your feet and go from here..... Clare, I was talking with some of my friends this past weekend who still smoke. They want to know all about what it's like to quit. I told them that the biggest thing I learned in the first month is that when I have a craving, if I decide not to satisfy that craving with a smoke I'm not going to die or go crazy. That was a big hurdle for me, as I had not gone even a few hours without smoking for many, many years. now I'm convinced it's okay - and possible to quit. So you had a slip, but you know that you can get through 50 days or more of not smoking. Get back at it and this time make it 500, or 5000, or 50000 days. Nothing bad will come from stopping again. Cigarettes Not Smoked

Clare, Don't be afraid. We're all here for you. You see that some cravings are there and you'll have to work through them. Pull out all of those tools, like lots of water and snacks, that you used in the beginning of your quit. Do NOT be ashamed of yourself and stop kicking yourself. You've learned something here, right? You can't ever take a drag off of another cigarette. The rational Clare doesn't want another cigarette but the addict does. Get mad at that addict. Protect your quit. You ARE still in your quit. Look at all of those cigarettes you have NOT smoked over the last 57 smoke free days. Pick yourself up and protect that quit of yours. It's remarkable!!! i am very happy to say that i didnt smoke last night (nor did my old colleague). Another friend promised me that if i got through the evening i could have the Led Zeppelin t-shirt off his back - and he didnt let me down. I am now the proud owner of a 1977 tour t-shirt!

I have had a few cravings, but it hasnt been too bad. I have been with my inspiration today, which has helped:- my mom, who quit cold turkey after many years of smoking...

the cigarettes were broken up and thrown in the bin (which was left out for the dustbin men last night...) i am meeting up with an old collegaue tonight - we used to be the smokers at the company. He tells me that he too has quit. Let's hope we can provide each other with the necessary support to get us through this evening... :8o:
