Hi Keith! Maybe it is time to see your doc about your feelings. Smoking can mask our true inner feelings. Smoking is how we have dealt with stress for all of these years. Now, without the smokes, our true nature does come out. We feel like the whole world is against us! And yes, it can be very very stressful!! As for your sex drive dropping: You said you are harboring resentment feelings against your wife. That could drop the sex drive. I know when I am ticked off at my hubby, I will not give in to sex. Forget it. My hubby will not be getting lucky! He can wait until I am ready. Perhaps you are too busy concnetrating on your quit, to worry about sex. Step back and look at your wife. She has supported you when you smoked, and when you decided to quit. She has seen you at your worst and at your best. Apparently she loves you enough to put up whatever you are going thru. Be gentle with her. Hold her at night and smile. She is the mother of your beautiful daughter, she is your lover, your best friend, the one who knows you the best. I am sure if you were to ask her, she would say the same thing about you too. And stop being so pessimistic on yourself. You are prolly freaking out as the milestone for you falling off the wagon. Take a deep breath and relax. You can do this. Now, move past the milemarkers of the old quits and forge ahead!! There is a whole new spread waiting for you ahead! Go see the doc about what you are feeling. He / she can help you. Now, here is your HUG and a slap on the back. You are doing well!! Hi Keith, Somewhere there is post where I mention day 63.... it was the worst day for me - don't know why - maybe the "newness" of quitting (it's a thrill for me!) was dissipating. Everything seemed to be going along fine, then bam, the traveling wagon of crap rolled up to my front door and stayed for a couple of days. This could be just one of THOSE days, or it could be more. You will know what is the right thing for you. Dr. visit -- or just taking care of Keith. You have been through a lot lately - it's time to do something terrific just for yourself. Go out and do something you have wanted to for awhile... Be selfish about it too, no going to see a kid movie if you don't want to! It's time for a "KEITH, YOU ROCK!YOU HAVE NOT SMOKED IN OVER 60 DAYS" celebration. We really are proud of you, we really care about you (I am sure you already know this) and we can provide lots of hugs and attaboys for you when needed. I am glad you posted here and hope that in some way, I have helped {{{{HUGS}}}} and hang on, this garbage will pass and you will wonder where the grump bugs crawled off to. Bummer to hear it man. But I guess we all experience some form of depression during our quit. See a Doc, or run through the back yard with a stick... whatever it takes. Maybe focus a bit less on the roughness of your quit, and a bit more on your child and wife. They are the reasons that you quit- correct? You have 63 days in, be proud of that Dude! 70 to 90 days was a real rough time for me. It may be for you as well. Stay focused, take it one minute then one hour then one day at a time. Post as much as you can. We are all in this same conviction together. N.O.P.E. Keith. Read further up and check out the post from Shevie. What he says is very important.
You could try to stick it out, and you could try to scratch your way through a brick wall, too.
What you relate could all be symptoms of depression. Check with your doctor. Congratulations on your 60+++ days.
