Life is a constant series of tests

Hi Monica, Thanks for your constant support. Talk about an amazing quit. I know heaven is smiling down at their special angel. Even though you say you take care of yourself, and I believe that you are, you continue to talk care of family and all your friends here at SSC. Keep up the great quit. We will be at six months before we know it. Hi Monica, Just wanted to check in. It sounds like you are doing a super job. Isn't it funny how it takes quitting for us to learn that we are important? Regarding the quit, a funny story. The other day I got in my car and reached for my pack of cigarettes, of course there were none. I just forgot that I stopped smoking for a minute. So instead I reached for a sucker. No big deal. Hope everything else is going well. Glad to hear that hubby continues to get better each day. Hope your mom is okay. Your family has a lot of people praying for them. Well have a restful weekend. Monica, I am so sorry to hear about your plans being cancelled. I had hoped you would be able to come back to the site and post about a wonderful day with your friend. But that will happen soon. There are so many reasons to be so proud of yourself. 1. You did get out of bed. (I probably wouldn't) 2. You plan to walk in cold weather tomorrow. (I can't get my behind out to walk here in Georgia. I use the excuse it is too cold. I know boo hoo:blush:) 3. You are so wonderful to your husband. I am sure that your care and support has helped him recover. Here comes a big one 4. You have kept your quit when a lot of us would have given up under a lot less stress. 5. You continue to have a positive attitude. (All of us have our down moments) Please feel free to rant anytime. We are here for you. Keep posting Keep the quit and Keep praying. We will do the same. (((((HUG))))) We are all praying and sending positive thoughts for you and your husband Monica. Perhaps the specialists will find a way to get him on the road to recovery today. It's not easy to do, but do try to get some rest and you'll feel more able to cope with everything that's going on. Smoking will not change any of the problems, so I hope you won't go to go to the store. Know that everyone here is thinking of you and wishing you brighter, better days ahead. Oh Monica, I am so sorry to hear the news about your husband and will pray for him and for you! Please take care of yourself so you'll be able to be there for your husband. This has to be the most stressful time for you, so I wouldn't worry about that one ciggy right now. I'm really proud of you for only having one. If you could stay smoke free it could really help your hubby though. He will need you with him as much as possible during this difficult time. I'm not an expert, and I don't know all the details about your hubby, but my Mother had a stroke many years ago (with similar sounding symptoms) and she recovered really well within 5 or 6 months. I will be thinking of you and praying for both of you often. Take care of yourself, and remember your husband is in expert hands. My very, very best wishes, Pat My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: -2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Monica, ((((((((more big HUGGZZZZZZZ)))))))))))) I'm so glad for you and for your lucky husband that you did not to the store!!!!! You have more strength than you give yourself credit for. You are doing an amazing job. If it helps to know, I do understand your fears and the nitty gritty of what needs to be done. I went through years of health ordeals with both my parents. Fortunately my Mother survived her stroke, but my Father's suffering did not greatly prolong his life. It was at times the worst of the worst and strangely the best of the best. Sometimes I literaly shook in my boots not knowing how to pull through it all. Looking back, I have but one regret, and of course it is that I spent at least 10-20 minutes of every hour of precious time I had to help or comfort them, outside smoking. Riverdale Man is right on the money in everything he says. Ride that wave and you will soon be back onshore. Take care of yourself, be good to yourself and trust in yourself that no matter what difficulties lie ahead, you do have what it takes to get it done (without a cigarette in your hand or on your mind holding you back). Keep us posted please, Pat My Quitting is My Winning My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 97 Amount Saved: $28 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 6 Mins: 48 Seconds: 26
