Good for you, New Papa! I'm on day 3, and have found if I replace the smoke times with something else, I forget about it (the empty space that used to be taken up with a cigarette). Coming here has helped a lot! Just find a healthy option for that smoke time, and it will help! Yeah for you!! One day almost done!!

Thanks for the suggestions Kiwi, Hillary and Valic. I definitely spread the word that I quit so that there is some accountability. This is definitely the hardest thing that I have every had to do. The social part of it is really hard to, I am so used to "catching up" in the smoke area and then the oral fixation part. I bought a bag of Twizzlers, it is helping a little. Day two is getting pretty rough as I am at work today. Meetings are usually followed by a quick smoke break. I can't seem to focus today without thinking about a cigarette. Anyone have problems with staying smoke free at work? Your tips would be appreciated. It feels great! I am halfway through the day and have managed to overcome several REALLY tough cravings. I am already breathing a lot easier and haven't wheezed all day. I am just finishing up work (yeah a really long day) so I feel like I am on day 4 instead of three but I feel strong and motivated. Hi folks - Today is my 1st day back at work since my quit (I had to come back sooner or later). It's been a little weird not taking my usual smoke breaks. There's not alot of smoker's where I work, it's just been a different environment than home. I used to look forward to my smoke breaks, so today has been full of new triggers. I will say that the day is dragging a little, but I'm sure this will pass. I have no desire to smoke, nor is it a crave, I just have a little extra time to be more productive, or goof off. Hang in there. Now I know why non-smokers complain about smokers being less productive. They do take a lot of breaks, don't they? I also found it hard not to smoke at work, especially after meetings. I chewed the gum like crazy. But, posting here, is truthfully what helped me. A crave will pass whether you smoke a cigarette in response to it or not. If you smoke the cigarette, then you are guarenteed more craves as you try to quit later. If you don't smoke, that crave is one in the road to less craves down the line. Keep posting. That is amazing. But doable. As for work, it was really hard for me, too. Fortunately, I work with a lot of young professionals who are bright enough to wonder why anyone would ever stick something like that in their mouth. But hanging out with the other old people was fun, if a little pathetic.
