Hang in there. Remember why you wanted to stop in the first place. Find that motivation again and dont throw 18 days away. Your children will always love you and just like you having a hard time now to resist smoking, your daughter is having a hard time in her life also. It will get better, but don't give up your own conquest to live better. You deserve to be smoke free; do not allow anyone or anything to rob you of that We keep childproofing our homes and they still keep getting in :p

Slivers - Please don't do it. Believe me I've done it so many times while trying to quit and it is not worth it. The truth is you'd just be taking out your hurt and frustration on your own body! You will feel so much better if you get past this feeling without smoking. Hang in there. Your daughter may not seem to care now (though she's going thru her own stuff so it's skewed) but there are lot of people here who do care right this moment!

Come on Slivers, "Cheer up Now"...(easier said than done...I know) Look how many days you have behind you...Yey!! That alone should make you think why you "don't even want to lite up" Blood is thicker than water, she'll be back eventually. She just doesn't want your "Motherly" advice right now. (sometimes we have to let them take a falling step) you keep your Quit... this is your way of setting an excellent example...and asserting your own control. Our kids are adults...we have to let them make their own choices auntdeb My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 36 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,815 Amount Saved: $171 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 23 Mins: 49 Seconds: 51

Slivers: Where are you? Everything ok now? Did the posts help? Please post again. I say "ditto" to all of the above, which you know to be good and true words from those here who care very much about you and your quit. One thing: You mentioned "relaxing" with a few cigarettes. You are LONG past those days, my dear! If you smoked now, trust me, it would be anything BUT relaxing! You'd feel terrible -- no, relaxing with a cigarette is no longer possible for you -- and that's GOOD NEWS! Keep the faith -- and let us know how you're doing now. Hang tough today and protect your quit. When I'm in a crazy crave I find looking in the mirror at my desperate self stops me. It is not a pretty sight. I keep that vision in my mind's eye and it works. I would recommend breaking out today. Do something very different. Short of that, do something different. and/or do something nice for someone. I think you're getting my point "Do something". We're here for you. Keep posting and read old posts. You can do this. Slivers, I always tell myself that smoking is not going to change the situation, (hubby smokes so they are near by), you are through hell and heck week. Don't want to do those 2 weeks again! Keep taking deep breaths, smoking will not fix anything, it will just make you feel worse. Rememeber N.O.P.E Keep your chin up and don't smoke you will feel worse! Hey Slivers! You don't need that cigarette my love. How will inhaling toxins into your body help the situation? Will you make yourself feel sick right now? I hope that you're hanging in there, love!
