slivers, Don't cave! Do some deep breathing, or take a walk to distract yourself. Maybe take a hot bath to relax and try to clear your mind but please don't smoke. Remember how good you feel now and how bad you felt when you smoked. You can get through this! Hi there Slivers, You're not going to throw that 18 days away are ya? Nope, you know that nothing will change when you smoke, you only will feel worse. So don't do it, read all you can and go your own way for a while. Slivers, I sure hope you are just lurking around, still taking some time to obsorb all the posts.............. We need you to check in! You obviously need a new way to deal with stress. What is something you could do? I personally take a walk. If I remember, I grab my music as well. I walk and talk to myself.... I look crazy, but when I arrive back home, I am a little more clear headed, and willing to reconize that I really did not want to smoke. I just needed a way of releasing my frusterations......... I still like to talk about how great I feel now, and things I can do now that I couldn't do before. And also the things that I need to accomplish still. Take a little time for yourself right now. Pamper yourself. It;s okay, you deserve it!! Please check in with us! We are here for you!! 4my2girls My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 339 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 10,189 Amount Saved: $1108.53 Life Gained: Days: 27 Hrs: 7 Mins: 56 Seconds: 2

I have just finished getting through a really tough time. My beloved cat will be 20 years old in a couple of weeks. A cat came into our shop with a kitty cold, coughing and sneezing. All my cats got it, and just like with a person, in a week or so they recovered. My old cat caught the cold and looked like he was going to die. Not only could I not afford vet care, I was afraid they would tell me he was very sick and the best thing to do would be to put him down. His eyes were running and I had to wash them three times a day so the crusts wouldn't cause lesions on his eyeballs. He refused to eat so I dissolved his food (he has eaten special food all his life to combat UTD) in water and fed him with a spoon. BOY did I want a cigarette. It wouldn't save his life, it wouldn't make him better, the smoke might make his already labored breathing worse. I still wanted a cigarette. It would make ME feel better. In reality, the only thing that would make me feel better is if he felt better. I'm happy today because my old man is recovered and eating on his own. I'm still smoke free. Don't give in. You'll feel better and stronger when you get over this rough spot. I sort of figure it this way.... daughter is mad.... if I smoke daughter will still be mad....and my sadness will double because I really don't want to smoke I am just in a panic. Give yourself a couple more hours and for heavens sake cry! You will feel even better. HI Slivers, Hope you are getting through your problems. Hey !! your problems ???? no. Your daughters problems. How about you leave them as your daughters problems. let her deal with them. you have enough on your plate right now. Guess what ? in a couple of months your daughters probelms will be sorted out and if you light up now you will still have your addictions which is your problem. Be strong dont let this ruin a good strong quit.
