glasgow_guy, Good for You... self-assertion will start growing as you gain control. (Try not to be too tough on your wife though) Gaining control and keeping it.. eat smart exercise endure the craves (they will only last for moments) (each time you get through a crave, know that the next one will be a little further away) Going back to work, keep a positive attitude and remember..."your Quit is yours, not your co-workers" they have to decide for themselves when "their Time is right" Be cheerful, confident, and happy...set an example for them!! good luck...and come here often... auntdeb ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 31 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,571 Amount Saved: $147.25 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 7 Mins: 51 Seconds: 13

Susie Those meetings DO help. Why? Because you know you must attend and you wont smoke because no one else will! Keep attending... I am at nearly 6 months and I have a meeting with my counsellor in the morning! Saying hi to fellow Sots! :) :) :) I'm in Fife. Through here, they run Quit n Fit stop smoking groups in the local leaisure centres. I think it's a FANTASTIC idea. We get 12 weeks free NRt and 12 weeks free use of all facilities (Gym, pool, aqua gym). I find it really works for me (aside from being able to moan at the weekly group meetings! lol) because focussing on the gym/swim thing makes me fell like I've replaced the smoking with something, rather than having "lost" anything. Anyway - hi guys! Hi Guy, You're doing great huh? I'm glad for you. You do all the right things. It will be so much better for the kids if daddy does not smoke. Why is your wife still smoking? Does she know how bad smoking is when childeren are arround smokers? Maybe she can quit too as soon as she see how good you are doing. Go out for nice walks in the fresh air and think about good you feel when you don't smoke. Sorry for the cold but that will go away soon and then you can really enjoy the fresh air. Don't be a smoker....be a walker!!! Hello there. I wondered are u from Glasgow Scotland? If so Me too! We are about the same stage of the quit. My husband is also at this stage. He is on NRT gum. I am cold turkey but reading Alan Carr's book is a great help. We are both at a smoking cessation group. Not sure if that's really helpful although it does make you focus on keeping off the weed. Anyway good luck to you. There's no doubt that smokers are now very much in the minority and it's time to join the majority. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/31/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 156 Amount Saved: 37.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 16 Mins: 21 Seconds: 8

guy, Make sure you get plenty of rest! You have a week off and your body is trying to heal, so let it do its job! Take a day to your self and prepare a celebration for your 7 days! Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
