18 days is a huge accomplishment that you should not turn your back on. You have done 80% of the work. I really believe that. Please read that post about the 25 reasons your addiction will tell you to smoke. I'll try to find it and bump it up. 18 days is a lot but don't think that you are where you're going to finish. Don't think that the cravings you are having now will be the same another 18 days from now or another two months from now. I know it's a pain in the butt to quit - I had a bad weekend, was unfriendly, fought craves - but each time we persevere we get stronger and the addiction gets weaker. DON'T QUIT NOW!!! I KNOW that 3 months from now you won't regret it. Sparky, I am so proud of you for taking the right road at your crossroads. You have now proven to yourself that you can and will take control of your life. It's your life and you want it back! I think that the more determined you are, the easier it gets. And I do know that everytime you take the high road, you get stronger I believe it, and I am living as if that will happen, and you are, too. You go girl! Hi Sparky - I just got home from the weekend, was reading your post and then phone rang and internet disconnected....I was desperate to get back on and make sure you were okay. Now I'm searching for the right words to help you feel better...but I think Butterfly offered some great advice....because only you can discover what it is that is making the desire to smoke so strong. Is is stress - what can you do to help relax?, what responsibilities can you give up right now? Are you still grieving your loss - some grieve longer than others, but we know that time heals and that you did not lose a good friend but an addiction that has caused you so much misery. Are you feeling depressed? - Is it time to talk to the Doctor, Who is there to support you? Are you just plain worn out - Is it time for a nap? Is it hard to complete your daily tasks without that "reward" - What other rewards can you build into your day? I don't know the answers - I just really want to help! We love you at SCC Sparky and would do anything to help you get through this tough time. Thinking of you and sending tons of hugs and prayers your way! Hi Sparky - I was just looking back to try and remember what the days were like...I remember a really rough time in the 3rd week and around the 30 day mark. I remember by the 3rd week, I had survived hell week and heck week but I was soooooooooo tired from dealing with craving every single day that I didn't know if I had the energy to go on. I thought that it should be okay but, in some ways, I felt worse because I was EXPECTING to feel bad for the first 7 - 14 days. Sparky - you are so important to us too. You not only need to take care of yourself right now, you need to do something REALLY nice for yourself. What would a good friend do? Do you need a day away from reg responsibilities? Is there something you would really, really like to have for yourself? What would make you feel better? Whatever it is, do it! If we were there, we'd do it for you.........so be your own best friend! {{{{HUGS}}}}} Windy My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 55 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,115 Amount Saved: $275 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 7 Mins: 1 Seconds: 18

Still up at the wee hours, went to darts tonight. Just read your post. Sparky, I have lost soooo many of my previous quits over the same feelings you're having right now. Its hard, and it sucks, no way around it. But it also goes. Better times are ahead. Take time for yourself right now if you can. Time to really relax. I understand what you're going through. Hang in there Sparky, you're in my prayers.
