Fearing the Weekend!

18 years ago 0 13 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Don't worry about the weekend, embrace it. It is a time to relax after a week of hell. As suggested go for a run, hit up some stores, maybe rent a couple of movies, lounge, and enjoy life. That's what this is all about. You can't change the weekend coming, so don't worry about it. The things you can control, like not smoking, are in your control so you don't have to worry about that either. See you have no reason to worry. ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/24/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 39 Amount Saved: $4.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 3 Mins: 46 Seconds: 48

I used to be excited for the weekend but this will be my 1st smoke free. Just nervous, scared and I need to get through this. Need some tips, inspiration anything. I am starting to realize how much smoking was apart of my identity and how much time I wasted...all up in smoke.

Rusty- "don't just sit around romanticizing about smoking" that is totally true....what is so wonderful about it??? I need to recall the yucky smell, taste and waste of $ smoking really is. One good thing I started back to running...I actually got a runner's high. I never felt like that when smoking, it was huff and puff and sometimes painful. I am on day 4 and do not want to go back!!!!

Trish, I was a little nervous my first weekend to. It was raining and my hubby is still a smoker. I just made a list of things that I wanted to do, or that needed to be done. It was nice. I got alot of side projects done, played special games w/ kids. Not nere as bad as I thought. Making a weekend promise helped me to. I am going into my third weekend now.I feel good. Had a weird day today, but I didnot smoke. Everyday I gain more confidence in my journey. You can do it. you may have to do things differantly this weekend. I am a planner, so having a list of things todo was a big help. Get lots of rest and relaxion. Take care of you and your quit. Good thoughts, Trish. Focus on what you can do to become healthier. Go for a run. Get some new running clothes or shoes to reward yourself. Check out new places to run. Think about healthy eating. Good luck! Rusty :)

Trish, how many days do you have not smoking? I know you don't want to lose those. That thought will carry you through the weekend. Also, stay busy...don't just sit around romanticizing about smoking. When you feel weak, jump on line and ask for help. Weekends are pretty slow here at the SSC, but someone will be around. Trish, You have nothing to fear :) There are always people around here whatever time of day it is. Stay close to the site for the weekend, read and post and keep yourself busy. Don't dwell on those thoughts....make a list of things you want to do....plan a morning or afternoon out somewhere nice, complete something around the house that you've have been putting off doing......anything! Just keep busy!!! Before you know it, those 4 smoke free days will turn into 5 and then 6 and then 7........... :) Stay strong and keep on smiling!
