You wonderful people. Just had a heck of a weekend Ruby weding party combined with my birthday party. Went on until the early hours of Sunday Total surpise for my wife. Guess what? NO SMOKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This week I am going to be very humble cos I came darn close about a week ago! Not so cocky but ever more confident Phil(UK) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/9/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 33 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 662 Amount Saved: 140.25 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 19 Mins: 53 Seconds: 39

Hi Gang Me again! When I first joined the voyage of discovery I was very much in take mode and was clutching at every bit of advice and help I could get. Then I became cocky and saw myself as a supporter to the newer members. Since then I have come damn close to a relapse more than once and have taken support yet again. Now its a blend of give and take!!! All I want to say is what a great community we have life is all about give and take . Happy weekend Keep giving, keep taking..... Phil, Just like anything else, this quit is ongoing. There is always more to learn, experience and overcome. Your enthusiasm for learning and your initiative to share your knowledge with others is admirable! Keep persevering, Danielle ________________________ The SSC Support Team

Phil, you little youngster, you! Consider yourself lucky! Or maybe you're just a quick learner. The phases you describe are the same for most of us but some of us have to repeat phases 1 & 2 several times before we can move on to #3... As Danielle so eloquently said, your enthusiasm & initiative are quite admirable. Let's hope they are also contagious! Stick the quit! mc My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/31/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 373 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,603 Amount Saved: $1492 Life Gained: Days: 36 Hrs: 8 Mins: 18 Seconds: 56

Forgive me for I am about to "hijack" this thread. The total number of cigarettes NOT smoked just from the people on this thread (not even including my own) is 104,402! Amazing. It is rare to see katy's stats so it caught my eye. We now return to your regularly scheduled thread... Phil.....in total honesty....I think there will always be stressful, critical times when thoughts of smoking are going to come to a quitter's mind...therefore it's never wise to consider ourselves "cured", cause we never actually "are"...this addiction is a powerful one....many of us spent years adapting to it's demands....we wove it into the fabric of our lives....leaving it is not easy.....the good news is that you CAN do it!! give thanks always for that fact!
