Hi Marie =) The herbal tea I was drinking yesterday is called Yogi Detox Tea. It has a peppery, licorce bite to it =) It reminds me of the black licorce rope candy we had as children =) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/21/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 14 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 143 Amount Saved: $28 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 6 Mins: 9 Seconds: 25

The storm has decided to stay on top of me today. I have done nothing but cry and cry. I am frustrated b/c the last 4 mons, I have jumped thru more hoops than a circus animal. I patiently waited as appts were made, and tests to be done only to find out the GI doc I have been seeing for the last 2 mons, doesnt do the 2 tests the surgeon wants. SO now, another referral for another GI doc has to be done, no telling how long the wait time it will be, etc. I have dealt w/ this crap for 4 mons and I deserve to be fixed from the sliding hiatal. The surgeon said it was bigger than a nickel but smaller than a quarter. So it goes up and down in my chest cavity all the time, the GERD aggravates it, homecare is not working, and I am tired of fighting to get fixed. Funny thing? GI doc and surgeon BOTH agreed the surgery needs to take place. Of course the GI doc doesnt do those tests. I am beside myself at the moment and I feel as if the system has failed me. But I still have the patch on and I am eating gum like crazy. I am lost. TY Danielle and Windy. You are correct. Smoking wouldnt do anything but make the GERD & the hernia worse. I learned that the last time I was getting the run around. All of the run around from the docs is what caused me to fall off the last time. The stress was unreal. This time instead of waiting for them to find a doc who will do the manameter and the probe, I found one myself and they accept my insurance. To boot, she told me all I have to do is call and she will do it immediately. I told her every thing and she told me the hernia will do that--the lots of mucus, breastbone pain, breathing trubs, etc. After I told her what one doc had said, she said this, "He fixes them. I diagnose them, perform the tests, and know exactly what can happen. You have the classical symptoms of a moderate sized hernia. A small one will not cause those symptoms and that is why you do not notice it at first. Large ones can cause even more symptoms plus the ones of a medium sized one. Your lungs are just fine. Your chest xrays are fine." I just cannot believe after misdialing a phone number by 1 number, I got a hold of a doc. How weird is that??? It was her private office number at the hospital. Hi Nalu!! I am here =) The pain has dropped but I am still forging ahead w/ my quit. The cravings are strong but I think it is b/c of the stress I am under. Stress is a major trigger for me. I jsut will be happy when my body finds its center. I am feeling off balance so I have been trying to figure out how to fix that. I jsut know I am holding onto this quit as hard as I can. Little things do not effect me but when something knocks me off balance, I am completely off balance, then I scramble to put everything back to where it was before the event happened. I am not sure if that makes sense or not. I am beginning to think my astrological sign, Libra, is indeed true. LOL!! Ok..someone started the whiney thread so I decided to do the weepy thread. Here I am, in total tears b/c of this horrid addiction. I know to take 1 step at a time but at the same time, I want it all over and done with. I jumped onto the couch and cried into a couch pillow and the tears havent stopped yet. I feel like I have lost my best friend and things will never be the same =( The storm clouds are moving overhead and I can 'feel' the change in the air. Somehow, I know this *IS* the real quit. I can feel it. Tea anyone?
