I have not touched a smoke, so that is the good news. The bad is that I am very very irritable; trying to keep the fuse to not burn down for me to snap and it is taking all my willpower to handle THAT one. Then there was this weekend. I play online games to relax me (I know, some people get pleasure out of that), and I felt this "missing" feeling. There was something missing, something I was not doing, did not do. Bugged the hell out of me most of the day when it hit me like a ton of bricks. Smoking, I was missing doing the smoking thing. It was like; "OMG" realization that my mind was messing with me THAT much that i actually MISSED it. I know it is all part of the process and it will take up to 21 days from day of quit to get a new habit down to not "miss" the smoke. But the irritability, the nervousness, the muscle twitching (tremors) are still around, like my body is still trying to heal itself from all the poison I have done over the years. If you look at my days it is good, but I feel like I am still in hell week with the physical problems (it may be just all mental transforming itself into physical form) Well just wanted to give ya'll an update, I am totally bugging now (but NOT wanting a smoke, that is the only good thing, NO cravings for me today). Hi there, You might be suffering a little bit from "reward cig" syndrome (my personal favourite), any milestone achieved brings on a sense of yippee this must mean I can surely have a smoke for having been so good! The accompanying crave and anger on realising you're not going to get this can be overwhelming. This has been one of the hardest aspects of my quit. I remember a thought running through my head more than once of "if i can't have a smoke at the end of this what's the point in quitting" Now THAT is birdbrained! You can see the mentality I have to content with!! Exercise is great. I've been exercising and watching what I eat through the week (weekends are anyones game as they should be) from the start and while I'm no "biggest loser" I've noticed how much firmer and fitter I am. It really helps to feel good from the inside out. Cardio exercise really helps a lot with feelings of irritation. If it is possible for you to go for a 5 to 10 minute run ... do it. It works wonders. You also may want to work on learning how to be assertive in communicating your feelings. When we smoked, a lot of us hid our emotions in a smoke cloud. Whether you exercise or communicate ... or preferably both ... do not stuff your anger ... it will only come back to bite you on the butt. Kudo's to you for coming here and venting/communicating. Hi Jdtigg, As BreakingFree says - EXERCISE!! I've been really grumpy in my Quit but found that an endorphin hit after a bit of working out really helps Congrats on your first 2 weeks!!! Jdtigg, Yes, the irritibility can sometimes be hard to deal with when quitting. Just be patient (yes, I know, easier said than done). You are 2 weeks closer to never feeling this way ever again!
