Day One - Day Two - Day Three

Hi Rusty, I will pass this problem over to our IT team and hopefully we can restore it in full for you. Thanks for your patience! Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team

Rusty I found Day One and Day Two for someone else who was asking, but couldn't find Day Three. Since the site changes a lot of the original old posts are hard to find or cut off in the middle. Hopefully they will turn up in the Lost and Found soon. I wrote three separate posts that my dear friend Riverdale Man graciously combined into this one post. Perhaps the mods can figure out what happened to them, or you can look for the original separate posts which were titled "Coping with Day One", "Coping with Day Two", and "Coping with Day Three." Thanks for the bump... It seems that the original links are not working though. I was looking forward to reading what Riverdal man said as he seems to have very good points. Anybody know where these are now? Thanks for the bump and welcome Greg! Yes, the nagging urges attached to your routine will go away as you begin to adjust to your new non smoking routine! You can help this along by changing certain aspects of your routine. Ex: If you always had a cigarette after dinner, try posting instead. Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team

Greg, it will take some time but those triggers will go away. Each time you eat a meal and don't smoke, or each time you start a project and don't smoke, will send a message to the brain not to connect the two. After just a few times, you'll find that that impulse has stopped for that trigger. Just hang in there and take one step, one minute and one day at a time. Be sure to introduce yourself on the "introduce yourself" thread! Cigarettes Not Smoked

Hi: I'm new to this site -- I'm on day three. I am thrilled that i finally escaped the smoking trap, but just going about my business, I find that I'm constantly having a reflex action to smoke -- you know? It is like I finish lunch and automatically think of smoking, i got into the office to start a project and look for the cigarettes. I hope that the constant reminders (nagging) about smoking (or not smoking) go away. It is tough and kind of sucks, but I'm trying to be really happy about escaping the whole smoking thing -- it would just be nice if the smoking-voice inside my head would hurry up and die. I thought this was lost in the reorg, but I finally found it. I hope this helps folks in their first few days. You'll have to go to the very bottom (which used to be the top) to get the meat.
