Wow, June quiters are soooo awsome. I am also 47 and I am remakeing a better me. I lost weight and started excersizing and now I am quitting smoking. I was trying to be mercifull on myself in the first few days and only worked out moderatly untill yesterday. Then yesterday I decided to go ahead and put some steam into again and WOW WAS I SHOCKED. In just four days of not smoking, my lung capacity has improved so much that I doubled the amount of time that I could run on the treadmill. I couldn't beleive it! I really wish I had never started smoking, but it was the in thing to do in the 70s in California. I can't change the past but I am absolutly deterimined to change the future. Good to meet you and I am looking forward to walking this road with you, Mama My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 185 Amount Saved: $22.8 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 11 Mins: 51 Seconds: 30

Wowwwww..I can truly say that I can feel my lungs breathing more easily. My breaths are deeper and less labored. I know I was headed for big trouble and although I'm struggling I'm winning. My coughing will improve over time and I hope and pray that this will be the last time I go thru this incredible pain of quitting. I have struggled with this junkie for 20 yrs and even a heart attack and COPD hadn't made me stop. After my heart surgery in 97 I did stop for about 4 years but I sneaked cigs every now and then and nobody in my family knew. Slowly my smoking increased until the death of my oldest son gave me just the reason to return to a full time smoker again. Two years later still smoking ....I quit for 3 mos Christmas Eve and thought I had finally won the battle. I got lazy and stopped using this site only to start sneaking cigs yet again. Its been 4 days without now and I know how important it is for me to "check in" here EVERY DAY. I am truly my own worst enemy. This time I will always remember N.O.P.E.... This site will be part of my life forever. Thanks to all . Mookie, Great job! Use those tough lessons learned on your previous quits to make you stronger this go around. You can do this...just one day at a time. Healthier Me, Ditto. Be proud of your (almost) 4 days and post them in the stats parade if you haven't yet. Also - get those one week rewards in mind so you have something to look forward to. Stay Strong!
