Hi Mr. Ed,
Yes this does pass. The seasons thing is very important. And at least one year for the major seasonal triggers to recede. Also, the inability to relax and enjoy not smoking has gone. I am an inpatient person, and transition times or down times were the last hard times to go. Finally, I can spend hours and even days of leisure without even thinking of a cigarette.
Then bam, I will have an hour or a day when I say - where did THAT crave come from?? How come I just had the passing thought, "oh I wish I could have just one." I acknowledge it, and then move on. There is no misery, no desire to become a smoker again...but there is occasionally the desire to have just one cause it was so fun. Thankfully, I am now knowledgeable enough to recognize how much of an addict I am, so I sigh and go about my merry way. I know from the bottom of my soul I never want to go through withdrawal again.
Have faith in those that have gone before you. This really does pass. Each day gets better. Total relaxation and enjoyment without even the tiniest thought of a cigarette will too be yours some day. YAY!!!
