I am on day 5 no smoking. I am chewing about 3 nicoderm gum/day when the urge is really bad. Several of my coworkers are trying to quit as well but have opted to have 1 or 2 smokes a day to wean off. I am finding the habit of smoking is hardest to break.

My withdrawls have been hell the last few days and I got a massive head cold. Im not sure if its bcs of the no smoking or just bad timing. HardRoadAhead - I'm also on Day 3 and woke up with a head cold! I figure it's either a coincidence or it's yet another treat of being in withdrawal! I REALLY hope it does start to ease up after Day 3!!!! Thanks for being here cause I dont want to talk about it with anyone. I want everyone to leave me alone and I am very pissed off. The anger surely comes and goes, and I try to make a mental note each time its really bad that this is the addiction screaming at you, this is not you. But it sucks. And its raining incessantly on top of it. Positive thoughts, deep breaths, relax the shoulders, eat an apple. Once its stops raining and is sunny, I will still be a non smoker. There. I tried. :confuse: My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/3/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 13 Amount Saved: $1.96 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 2 Mins: 49 Seconds: 10

Hello all, I'm in hell week, but doing ok so far. I think the hardest thing for me was to change the way I think about this whole thing. I always put off quitting because, as I told my hubby, I didn't want to put that monkey back on my back (have quit many times). Now I understand the monkey has been on my back ever since I started smoking again, and by quitting I'm taking that monkey and shipping it back to the zoo where she belongs! Yeah us!
