Thanks for all your kind words... On Day 3 today... So far so good. Drank lots of water and on to my 3rd nicorette gum in the last 3.5 hours. The feeling of wrapping up the day w/o a smoke is great! I feel i accomplished a lot. i am looking forward to that today... thanks you all for the support. I quit and will stay quit & proud of it! I agree that ANY cigarette not smoked is a good thing. I used the gum to quit this time and it worked better than anything else I had tried. At first, I was chewing one piece an hour too. Are you chewing it long enough? The package says about 20 minutes but I chewed one peice for almost an hour then replaced it with another at first. I think I got addicted to chewing the gum so I replaced the nicorette gum with regular gum at times after 6 weeks. It did the same thing! During the first week, you really have to keep busy. I started my first week on vacation. I knew I would be running from one thing to the next and it helped. At night I was exhausted and wanted sleep more than smoke cigarettes. Do you have any projects at home that would keep you really busy? Washing walls is tiring and will also remove any cigarette film and odor. It's really nice to walk into a room and breathe the fresh, clean smell deeply. Put on some really good music while washing the walls. This is really stupid but I would pretend that I was on some home decorating show and gave a running monologue on how to wash walls interspersed with singing. I looked nuts but it served two purposes! Don't one slip make you guilty. If you slipped just think I have to get back on track and not slip anymore. Think about the reason why you wanted to smoke. Just keep your morale high and soon days will be going fast without the smoke. I, too, slipped -- after almost one full month! Then I started smoking a cig or two or three each day, all the time realizing that the road I was on would only lead back to full -time smoking. Now I've gotten myself back on track but it sure isn't easy. Best of luck to you. Boredom is a killer, so stay busy. willpower, as far as I am concerned, every cig that we do not smoke is worthy of a party in and of itself!!! Don't worry about the slip, fight for your quit and forget the slip... you are quit just stay there. Phoenix N.O.P.E. Welcome willpower!!! :Yes this is doable. I have slipped but one cigarette one day and a few another much later. That time reinforced my quit as I got a headache and during the night developed a sore throat. I personally feel the slip helped me but I don't recommend it. I am a long time 35 yr smoker just over a pack a day and this was my very first real honest attempt at this and I have to say I am proud of what I have done. I didn't think it possible and look what I am doing. You hang in there. Walks have helped me. Lots of water, juice, fruits and I never used to chew gum. I have gone through alot of that and mints instead of a smoke. It is going to be a great smokeless weekend. Good luck and come back often :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 70 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,123 Amount Saved: $220.5 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 6 Mins: 15 Seconds: 22

Hi wp~ Since you enjoy running... exercise often (or especially when the smoke thoughts are strong) Exercise and rewards are crave busters. See you on day 5. :) All the best~ 2 My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/20/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 252 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,558 Amount Saved: $1260 Life Gained: Days: 23 Hrs: 23 Mins: 29 Seconds: 35
