I took a puff last night

Good morning Navy Chief. I've been reading the site since I quit on 22 Jan, but thought I'd introduce myself today. My husband is a 29 yr Master Chief (retires next year), I work for the Navy, and we both quit on the same day. He quit cold turkey, and I used patches for two weeks. It's been tough, but I'm enjoying being smoke free so much. It's amazing how many people that I used to hang with at the smoking shack offer me a smoke now that I've quit. Strange. Like you, I had that smoking dream, I'm sure I'll have more! Keep on keeping on and congratulations! Hi NavyChief, thanks for your information about self hypnosis. Today I am going toi put my script on tape and gt on with it. So glad your puff was only inb a dream. I don't use patches and I don't have to be asleep to dream of that puff. It is a constant thing with me. Thats why I am looking for another weapon to fight a half centuary addiction. Good luck with your quit My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 41 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,251 Amount Saved: $307.5 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 10 Mins: 15 Seconds: 24

Hi Navy Chief, my dad is a retired Navy CPO. Welcome Aboard. I'm glad it was all a dream. There are quite a few of us that have had realisic smoking dreams.Mine was sneaking puffs off my mother-in-laws ciggie. Something I never would have done in real life. Keep Strong. May all your puffs be imaginary! Dreams about smoking are weird aren't they? In a previous quit I used the patch but figured out I couldn't sleep with them. Too weird dreams. I just kept cutting them in half until one day I forgot to put one on. That was a good day. Unfortunately I lost that quit after a couple of years. Stupid huh? This time I'm off for over two months so far and determined to make it. Good luck to you. Navy, It's COMPLETELY normal to dream about smoking... especially early in a quit. I have had SO many smoking dreams, and I quit Cold Turkey. Dreams are just part of this. I have had WAAAAAY more than my fair share of them and here's one of my posts regarding this and I got some good advice in here... especially read Newbkr and Katy's responses. Why Can't I get rid of them? It's great that you felt guilty afterwards... I always do too. I wish I could tell you when they stop, but unfortunately, I'm not there yet. I had one last night too. Keep up the quit! Crave the Quit! NavyChief, Welcome to "patch" dreams. I had to stop wearing mine at night due to some wild dreams!! Once I started taking them off at bed time and putting them on after my shower I didn't have anymore weird dreams. Our minds are great things, huh? ;p Keep on keepin' on! Be Strong. I used the patch and had some pretty vivid dreams too, but I figured it was a small price to pay since they were helping me quit. I had a wierd dream last week that I had smoked and I have been off the patches for a long time now, so it might not be just them. Congratulations on quitting!!!
