Are you going cold turkey or are you using the gum or something? I am trying cold turkey and having rough time after 3 days. I was kinda hoping it would get better after week one. Your post makes me nervous. All of us have to agree.....there is never a " good " day to quit smoking. I read a post here where someone said that the most important thing to do when U quit is to have a plan. This is very important, at least it has helped me. I have made charts, posters and check lists.........LOL.........I am a Teacher and have been a Serial Dieter so this type of behavior modification is not new to me! LOL Not only have I not smoked a single cig.....I have lost 4 pounds this past month. Running! LOL That is what I have been doing.........instead of saying I gotta have a cig..........my new mantra is "I gotta Run!" It is working so far.........one day at a time. Lots of Luck, rawker and all. OUT WITH THE CIGS---IN WITH THE RUNNING SHOES! Smell that nice clean air! rawker i went through the same thing you did, first week was not as bad as i thought it would be, but the second week was something else, i kept asking my husband to buy cigs for me, which he didnt, it was terrible, but after the second week cravings got alot better, so hang in there it will get better, just get thru this second week, take it one day, hour, minute or second at a time. YOU CAN DO THIS My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/21/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 70 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,418 Amount Saved: $350 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 17 Mins: 33 Seconds: 56

Rawker...you CAN do it. You've already done it for one week so you know you can do it. Keep your coping skills close at hand. Plenty of mints, gum and ice water. Kick, scream, whatever it takes...just don't smoke. Congratulations on making it through Hell week. Rawker, Oh, I remember week 2 VERY well! And NOT because it was a good week either! That was rougher for me than week one, so... you're NOT going crazy! You're completely normal! Just remember that you are one day closer to never feeling this way again. Remember to distract yourself from cravings. They WILL go away... I promise. You're doing awesome! Hang in there! Crave the Quit! It goes that way for some, rawker. "my will power will get me through" "I feel better physically already" "I don't wanna disappoint myself" Good, strong words of encouragement, IMO. ;) Hang in there, rawker. You'll get through it and it gets better. Just hang on to your words.
