NRT is doing my head in

Thanks for that Katy. I am feeling a lot better now than the last couple of days, but it made me realise I can't get complacent - like you said the NRT does take the edge off, and I think I would be wise to follow through on the program for now...
Hey ex-roller. ...How strong do you feel with your quit??? I mean do u truly see yourself as a non smoker? If theres days when the temptation is so strong that u question your quit then I don't think u r ready.
Hey Cincere, thanks to you also for responding and your input!! Regarding your question about my quit - it's not so much the cravings* (see my opening post): I can generally manage just about, it's just the crotchetiness...wow talk about grumpy with a big G - that's me lol!! - plus feeling so very low spirited. Also how much worse would I be if I were to go cold turkey now - I'm not so sure, so I decided to play safe for the time being and change nothing... Yes I am truly committed, but I am being very cautious right now - where I go, who I see, too avoid as much temptation as possible - like I said I don't feel tempted to smoke at all, but given a situation I'm not ready for yet (well I'd rather err on the side of caution)... Thanks - I'll keep checking in on you to see how you're doing.... :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 42 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 511 Amount Saved: 50.4 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 12 Mins: 10 Seconds: 20

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and support!! Well I have just woken up and have had a cup of tea (ran out of coffee :() and feel ok so far. Just reading through your posts gives me the strength I need and your thoughts on the matter really do help...thanks!! It's too early in the day (literally) for me to decide what I'm going to do, but I think common sense is telling me (and so are some of you) that I shouldn't change anything till I feel a bit better...I will keep posting here obviously (this really is a lifeline)....I am so looking forward to being 100% nic free tho'!! Well, hopefully it's ok to rant a bit...I am a few hours in to this day and it's BAD!! I am biting everyone's head off, miserable and the worst thing is someone telling you what you should do to feel better - like I had a suggestion to go to the gym or get a new hobby, and I got so cross!! Yes I want to go to the gym and develop new interests, but right now I don't want to do anything!! I want to hide, and be a complete slob!! Tell me please this will pass...this has been a bit of a shock as I thought I was doing really well on my quit - well I know I am, I just don't feel so bright...ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! That's better....thanks for bearing with me lol!! Thanks everyone. Today it is a beautiful and sunny day, and I woke up feeling much better - not going to make any changes yet though regarding the NRT - gonna wait till I've felt better for a few days first. Thanks so much for your support!! This has to be the worst day - not for cravings but for feeling so low, tired, totally an all time low for me, I don't want to do anything at all. I have felt cross and bothered by everyone and everything, and I am angry at the constant (albeit low level lukewarm turkey) cravings I experience using NRT (inhaler)- I am only using it 3 times a day instead of the recommended 6 times a day as so far since I quit I haven't needed anymore and coped quite well and don't want to increase it. The question is whether to go cold turkey now when I am feeling so low (I am not tempted to smoke but I feel very vulnerable and will I be more tempted going through cold turkey?) Am I ready to go cold turkey yet? I want to, to get rid of this nagging reminder I get with the NRT -it's wearing me down...maybe I should have started out at the higher dose, I don't know. What I do know is I absolutely will not smoke. Sick, disgusting things!! Nevermind, tomorrow is a new day and maybe, just maybe I will feel better.... I wanna go to Chris' club. Mine is just full of stinky sweaty people that I wouldn't care about going to their summer houses. Just playin all. I am hanging at the club a few days a week myself and it feels good to do it. Hang in there Ex Roller. This Too Shall Pass. We didn't just smoke for a few weeks, so we can't expect to get better that quickly. It's a process that will take some time. FYI you are doing great. I am so proud of you checkin in when s*&t happens. Hang in we are all here for you. Just Say N.O.P.E. Roller, Good for you posting this dilemna. I am not sure I can counsel you on this either. I was using the gum, but sporadically and not nearly as much as directed. I dropped it all almost 2 weeks ago. I was in a pretty good place though. I might agree with Rosie that you should keep doin what you are doin until you feel stronger. Either way we are here for you and bakin up your Ash Kikin 100%. Just Say N.O.P.E. Sorry you're having a low day today. And on your 40 days too! A coincidence, do you think? My opinion is you should'nt change anything until you are feeling solid and strong again. I am sure that will be soon. I am on the patch and only have less than 2 weeks until I'm Nekkid. I too am excited to move on to the next phase of my quit. Keep Strong, you're doing great!
