Junkie talk shut up

17 years ago 0 71 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Jeanigirl, I am still rather new on the path so I don't dare say to much until I have had some more time with walking the walk. What they say about distracting our thoughts is true, redirecting our thinking really does work. As soon as 1 little thought comes, quickly refocus on anything except the desire to smoke. That is what I do and so far I have not had to many problems. I am celebrating my achievement. Coming here gives me a chance to affirm my quit. We win, I win. You people give me the chance to remember it and KNOW it. IM here, the temptation just to hop in the car and you know what has been the greatest today... im not budging.. inbetween naps i read and post, it is keeping me sane.. My stomach goes from butterflies to knotts, is that withdrawl... my head hurts from talking back to that mean spirited demon, as much as i use distraction it seems to keep on and on ... thanks for being there everyone.. off for a good sob... jeanigirl

Don't let yourself sit around doing nothing ... unless it is to nap. Do something to occupy your mind. Just keep going ... keep going ... keep going. Like little Dory from 'Finding Nemo' .. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming. You can do this Jeangirl. It will not be like this forever ... I promise. My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 33 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,008 Amount Saved: $132 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 19 Mins: 50 Seconds: 39

Jeanigirl Hang in there!!!! You r doing GREAT. That nicodemon guy is very crafty...but you can kick his butt (pardon the pun) Follow the suggestions...they do help. My doctor also recommended cinnamin sticks in that somehow they reduce the cravings...also use straws ..get some play dough to squeeeeeeeeeeeeze....yeah pretend its the nicodemon's head...do whatever but just DON'T LIGHT UP. Remember that every craving is a step closer to freedom and dont forget the "lessons" they teach us. I'm only on day 12 so I know exactly how you feel. It gets better....I promise!!!!! Hi, Jeanigirl. Ignore the junkie. Let him talk all he wants. That's all it is, just a bunch of talk, just a bunch of lies. Imagine you're stuck at a table with an obnixious, self-centered, babbling dork that will not shut up and cannot comprehend that anyone would not want to hear his voice. Just consider the source and tune it out. Staying home, napping, tea, crying are all good. Screaming is too, so long as the neighbors don't call the cops. It will ease off, Jeanigirl. Patience. :) Congratulations on 5 smoke-free days. You're doing great, you really are. jeani, Kick the junkie to the curb where it belongs! You can do this and we can help. You need to keep yourself occupied and distracted, this will help get rid of those craves. Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
