The first cup of coffee

One of the hardest ones for me to get over is the first cup of coffee and a smoke! For all who drink coffee. I found one thing that helped just by accident the other day and thought I would pass it along to you all. I was getting coffee at the store and did not notes that I bought a can of coffee with cinnamon in it. Maybe it was just by chance but I just forgot all about a stinking cigarette and really enjoyed a different cup of coffee. After drinking a couple of cups I thought this is COOL to be able to have my first coffee with out having triggered a withdraw! Try it Bryan Remember there is not one damn thing in a cigarette you NEED. It is the Nicotine that has you! That's exactly what I did. I changed the cream to flavored cream. Changed the whole taste of the coffe and didn't want to smoke with it. Now I'm running out of new flavors to try. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 206 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,133 Amount Saved: $721 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 5 Mins: 3 Seconds: 51

Craves are often triggered my memory association. As you've found out, if you change the association you reduce or eliminate the trigger. It is possible that if, after an extended time, you go back to your regular coffee (or creamer) it will trigger a crave again. If you do go back, expect it to happen. My experience is that anticipated craves are much weaker, if they happen at all. I'd guess you might have a couple of weak ones, more annoyances than craves, and that will be it for the coffee/cig connection. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 245 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,913 Amount Saved: $931 Life Gained: Days: 45 Hrs: 19 Mins: 10 Seconds: 59
