Headaches

Thanks so much for all the idea's. I have started walking every morning before work and I have also found a 10 minute work out CD that I do before my walk each morning. It feels so great to be able to do these things without being so short of breath. Plus the nice cool New Mexico Mornings are just grand. I have been having alot a headaches since my quit. Does anyone know if this is normal or is this somthing I should be concerned about. Last night it even woke me in the middle of the night. I got up took some Ibuprofin and went back to sleep. It seems like im taking ibuprofin 1 to 3 times a day. I would also like some cheap reward ideas. Im trying to save most of my smoking money for a new car. I also wanted to mention how excited my friends and co-workers are about my quit. I didn't realize how much people really do care about my health. Hey AlleyAnn and Shelly, I suffer from horrible migraines... on the order of 3 to 4 a week with medical intervention... That set aside, one of my "cheap reward ideas" has been accupuncture. It's not terribly expensive, and it helps a lot with the headaches. Living in the San Francisco Bay Area, I've been able to find a guy that trained in China and he's been a life saver... Hi there! I have two weekly rewards: First, I promised myself that I would spend more time with my girls. Now that I have oodles of time on my hands, we have a nail painting party. My girls love to pampered. I have a foot soaker, so one at a time, I give us all pedicures. While one is soaking, I do our nails. My girls love this, and it is a reward to me to be able to spend more than 30 minutes at a time with them! It is also very cheap! Second, every Thursday, I get a smoothie with them. We all love smoothies, and we don't get them that often. It's not very expensive either. Anyway, I hope I have given you ideas! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 37 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,124 Amount Saved: $120.99 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 0 Mins: 23 Seconds: 26

Hi Alley, I have had headaches everyday since my quit. They have not been bad enough to wake me up but the last few days I have not been sleeping much more them a couple hours a night. Im also saving for a new car. Im having trouble myself thinking of cheap rewards? I like eating out, and I plan on using that one a few times. Nothing fancy as long as I dont have to cook it! :) Keep up the GOOD work, we CAN DO IT! ~Shelly~ My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/30/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 239 Amount Saved: $35.75 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 3 Mins: 59 Seconds: 23

Alley, Everyone's symptoms will be different. If these headaches persist, then check with your doctor to rule out anything medical. It is great to see others routing for you, make sure you do this for yourself and see the difference it can make. Try smaller rewards such as a book, hot bath, coffee with a friend, or even a walking club as part of your nightly routine. Anything that puts a smile on your face can be a reward.
