Kat, I lurked around in the background for quite sometime before I made the decision to dig in and get my quit going. I am here because the members posts and support for one another was exactly what I needed to get where I am right this moment...and do I ever feel terrific! Congratulations on your 9 days quit! That is truly awesome! ASKING FOR HELP

Lana, I am so very sorry to hear about your dad's passing. You are still grieving and will be for some time. Allow yourself as much time as is necessary to cope with this most difficult time in your life. I lost both my folks eleven months apart and I can only say that it took years to heal even somewhat from that kind of loss. Nicodemon is quite clever and seems to lay in wait for just the right opportunity to pounce and try to entice us back into his web of addiction. You ARE strong! My goodness girl...you quit smoking during a traumatic time for you and kept your quit now for nearly 4 months. Look at that again...4 MONTHS! There is zero doubt in my mind that your dad would be very VERY proud of your 114 days without cigarettes. Furthermore, (I apologize for being so bold here,) I honestly believe he would be rather sad if he thought for one second that he was the cause of Nicodemon seducing his little girl back to smoking cigarettes. You can do this. You ARE doing this and you know that everyone here is cheering you on...holding you in their prayers, and sending virtual positive thoughts your way. all powerful peppermints

Kat, First...way to go on 9 days quit...most excellent! I read Lady's post on the peppermints too..THANK YOU LADY!!! I have peppermints everywhere now. Each room has a stash, including the bathroom. My car has them as well as Altoids. Hard candy, sugarless or no, has to be one of the best tools I use to keep my quit craves manageable. New Member

freeatlast, Sorry your thread got away from us...everyone really does try hard to keep up with the new members..but occasionally a new member will get past us. Congratulations on your decision to quit. I did the very same thing...stayed up till the last second to get in just one more puff. There is so much anxiety and anticipation when we make the decision to quit. You will find great information here to help you in your journey to quit smoking and you will find the members here to be wonderfully supportive! Glad to have you aboard...hop right in and believe with all your being that you CAN do this! I Need Sleep

Potchy, OTC Sleep aids are: Melatonin is a great sleep aid for some folks...I would look for the sublingual kind (under the tongue) because the hormone gets broken down quite a bit in the digestive tract when just swallowed...sublingually it is delivered directly to the blood system. Some others are: Kava Kava (if you can find it) Passion Flower, Valerian Root (I take only in capsule form cause its pretty nasty tasting otherwise, Tylenol PM. And please be sure to read the directions...even with the natural substances, more is not better! If it gets bad though, I would say a visit to the doctor is needed for something a bit more powerful. It's so important to get good sleep because our bodies are healing and busily sweeping our entire systems clean of toxins...Good rest helps this process greatly. Good luck! Does 30 days make a month?

DD, That first month anniversary is such an awesome accomplishment! For me that seemed like yesterday. Interestingly, I now have 10 day increments that are so do-able. Next 40 days!
