ASKING FOR HELP

18 years ago 0 128 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
My friends, I did make it through this day without smoking. I need to say this and I want you to know this is from the heart, I got through because of you. I do know that if I didn't have the support of the SCC this quit would have been like all my other quits where when it gets tough I get a pack. This is the first time I had a support group to come to, and ask for help, and it came and you were there for me. Funny but I wanted to stay strong for each of you. Each of you that reached out, and even the ones who read my post and yet didn't respond I still could feel the strength of prayers that went forth for me. My brother was very concerned and supportive of me and supportive of my quit during our time today with what we went through and had to do. As I said he is a chain smoker and as he did smoke he would try to stay away from me. I realized then that I had to take and live life on lives terms and that N.O.P.E. had to be my strength. Nicodemon just kept saying one drag, just one drag and you won't go back to full time smoking but you will feel better and get through. You can't have a better excuse then this and the hardship you feel and are going through that everyone will understand and be supportive of your smoking again. As we were in the boat going out to sea I took out and just kept going over your words. Penquin, your words takes a lot of courage, Show him you cannot be beaten. Just stood out to me. CobenFan, Christine your words Please do think about how proud your Dad would be of you Be strong, know that we support you and take that with you, because there is strength in numbers and there are a lot of us here to help get you through this. Phillip, your words You have strength, you have all of the courage and resolve and fortitude that got you to 114 days. You have been doing and are in the middle of creating a loving new life for yourself. Spread you wings and fly! Freedom! Butterfly Swimmer, your words It's obvious that you really want this quit and I'm sure that you will get through this smoke free. Just think of how proud you will be of yourself if you can do this and not smoke! Ellen Nicodemon is quite clever and seems to lay in wait for just the right opportunity to pounce and try to entice u

Lana, you are a beautiful person, and you deserve to have total control of your life. You have great strength and it will get you were you want to be. My father also died of a smoking related illness. It took me 25 years since he died to finally get smart and quit smoking. Prayers and hugs. Cuddles It's better to be a non-smoker with an occasional desire for a cig than a smoker with a constant desire to quit...... Lana, You are so strong! You MUST be strong to make it through all of that and still not smoke! I KNOW that you don't want to lose those 114 days! I KNOW that your father would be and is proud of you! Just keep thought close to you as you do this! I can only imagine how hard this must be for you, but smoking won't change anything. You know that! It's obvious that you really want this quit and I'm sure that you will get through this smoke free. Just think of how proud you will be of yourself if you can do this and not smoke! Crave the Quit! Hi Lana I am sorry that you are having to deal with this right now. It is very emotional I am sure. Nicodemon loves those kinds of emotions when we feel as though we don't have any strength. But you do have the strength ....lots of it - to get through 114 days takes a lot of courage. Smoking will not make this easier to do....you know that. Your Dad I'm sure was real proud of you. Keep making him proud....don't smoke. Not now, not ever. Show him you cannot be beaten. Lana, You are a strong lady. Don't forget that! You haven't made it this far by letting your addiction take control. Tomorrow isn't any different than today. When you wake up in the morning, make a promise to yourself that you will not smoke today, just for today. Make yourself a little 'safety pack' to take along...water, gum, hard candies, straws...whatever you have found works for you. Maybe take a pen and right N.O.P.E. on your smoking hand. Most importantly, decide on a reward that you can have when you get home! Give yourself something to look forward to after a stressful day! Lana, The strength is within you and you know this. You have reached 114 days through your strength and support. Our thoughts are with you and know by smoking you will only disappoint yourself. Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
