Medication Woes

Kittcatt,   It is so good to hear things are getting better! You mentioned in a previous post about the possibility of completing more session in the panic program. How has this been working for you? Continue to work on your skills and let us know how you are doing.         Sarah, Health Educator

Riding in a car as a passenger

CD and Birdie,   Thank you for sharing your experiences! It can be very difficult to overcome certain anxieties related to driving, especially after personal fear-provoking events.   CD, travelling can be challenging but by slowly exposing yourself you can increase your comfort level in this situation. Birdie also brought up a very good point about having a "safe person" to ride with. Have you considered someone like this that you would be able to trust while they are driving?   Have any other members experienced fear when riding in a car?     Sarah, Health Educator

Bleurgh !

CD,   I'm sorry to hear that you are having a tough day.   Bullying can be very difficult to deal with but you are being very proactive by talking to the school, almost immediately after it happened too!   However, I'm also glad that you are keeping yourself active and busy! Hopefully this will help you sleep better at night as well.   Let us know how things at the school go and good luck!     Sarah, Health Educator

New here and felt alone until...

canscrapbook,   Thank you for sharing your story and support with us. There are many people within this support group that share the same questions and concerns as you.  We are all a group of individuals who support each other.

If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests.  These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor.

We also have developed a Panic Program.  This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above.  Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead.

These tests may or may not be for you but they are "free".  If you have any question or concerns with our “TOOLS”, you can contact us at support@paniccenter.net.  We are the Support Specialist for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have.

Please continue to strive forward and lean on us for support.     Sarah, Health Educator

Diva news...

Diva,   Thank you for the update!   You mentioned you feel optimistic. It also sounds like it from your post! Even though it may have been stressful to take a leave from schooling, it will be a positive decision in the end. You were able to recognize how exhausting school was for you at this moment in your life. But this has also given you time to reflect on other aspects of your life. And hey, no homework is not such a bad thing either!   You are absolutely correct, all of these experiences will make you a stronger and happier person. You can do this!     Sarah, Health Educator

PA's rubbing off on other family members

canscrapbook,

It can be difficult to determine if anxiety and depression are hereditary because it varies for every individual. However, this is definitely something you should be speaking to your family doctor about. Perhaps he/she can connect you with supports within the community that could help both of you with what you are experiencing.

Sometimes children adopt their parents' behaviours unintentionally just because they observe it everyday within the home. So deciding to speak to your daughter about what you are going through is something that is completely up to you. Do you think she would be open to talking about her own thoughts and feelings?   Let us know how it goes and we are here if you need us!         Sarah, Health Educator

Diva news...

Diva,   You are not lame. It can be very difficult to try and communicate someone, especially when the time is not the best.   What did you have in mind when you were going to do something fun with your husband? Can it be rescheduled? Maybe you can organize something fun with him over the weekend?   Members, any other suggestions for Diva?     Sarah, Health Educator
