Hello everyone

I stopped smoking a few days ago now and it has become easier and easier for me (although i am on the tablets from the doctor). I knew it was that extreme or carry on smoking and be in a wheelchair at 60 like grandma is now! I was a 25 a day smoker and i never want to smoke again. I already feel so much brighter about the world in terms of not stinking of cigarettes all the time! And very soon i'll be able to run for longer so, i have decided to run a marathon in May (only a small one - lets not get too excited, 6 miles) for womens aid. I seem to have strange moments where i feel that i 'should' be smoking and i have to remind myself that i don't smoke any more :)...how exciting is that! Would you like a cigarette? No thank you, I (yes me) i don't smoke any more - did you hear that! I no longer smoke....go on, off you tottle and do the walk of shame outside in the cold! Anyway, Hello everyone! Ok negatives are this - with these drugs i see every hour of every night at the moment INSOMNIA however, its still worth it in the long term to never smoke again.

Hello everyone

Yes, those are the ones i'm on - ive been on them for just over two weeks and the insomnia is extreme - last night i was wide awake till nine in the morning...then i went to bed and woke again at 1030. Today ive been to the gym and other stuff and i still don't feel tired. Spoke to the nurse and come off the drugs today...i reduced the dose yesterday to see if it would help me sleep. It didn't - so i think it will take a while for them to come out of my system. However maybe its all i needed to help me through the worst bit - i have no intentions of ever having another fag - i don't need the drugs! I'll be good without them.

Bad breath

Hello everyone, Ok i have an issue here, i stopped smoking ages ago now and i'm doing really well however, my breath has begun to smell worse than when i smoked. I thought it was supposed to smell better than when i smoked. Could it be, that my breath has always stunk? That i have never noticed it before? Gone to the dentist today to get a hygene person on the job - maybe its just that they need a damb good cleaning. Has anyone else noticed this when they stop smoking. In fact - i can also smell the cats a lot more and smells generally. So, i'm constantly cleaning up at the moment in an obsession with bad smells. O i hope you don't all think i;m a minger who lives in a messy house with gross teeth now - that is definately not the case! Apart from this minor strangeness of smells and obsession with smells - i'm feeling really good about not smoking.

Gas production after giving up smoking

Now i'm not sure if i have caught a bugg or if its anything to do with giving up smoking but, i can't stop trumping all the time and burping. Furthermore, i have heart burn a lot - is this anything to do with giving up smoking at all? Because if so, i have never heared of it. And if it is than how long does it last? Ps: i have always had a healthy diet - my only nemesis was smoking.

Anyone used Chantix?

I started off on chantix - took it for two weeks and it made it easier for me to give up. However for the last few days of taking them i saw every hour of the night - so i stopped them and i still don't want to smoke. So the way i see it is the drugs helped me give up and it is up to me now - i'm a none smoker already! It was not worth the not sleeping all night side affect for me to keep taking the drugs.

Gas production after giving up smoking

Yes we are at the - we don't fart stage of the relationship although, he is realising now that i do fart after all! He still smokes though, he is trying zioban i think it is called - he has reduced but not stopped yet. He's at the feeling better as he has reduced the fags but, constantly thinking about having the next one, getting anxious about it. Then having one and feeling a bit **** about it. Pleased i'm not at that stage any more i think its the worst one! What Do You See?

I feel really sorry for people who are having to stand outside now in England to smoke - rain and cold here and they still do it! Take the walk of shame out of the pub/club/or resturant (because not many people smoke now) and freeze for the fag...we were slaves to the fag! It feels good not to worry about it any more. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 13 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 325 Amount Saved: 81.25 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 0 Mins: 25 Seconds: 50
