Dec. 12/07 - DeQuitters

Go DeQuitters! You guys are doing awesome! Ginette, boredom is a trigger for me too (at least it was before I got so crazy busy lately). Anyway, what helped me was being here on the SSC A LOT, reading a good book, eating, sleeping, and talking on the phone. When I got a major crave I would do deep breathing and self talk. Keep up DeQuit DeQuitters! Octobreathers, how are you doing?

For my one month reward, my girlfriends took me out to lunch and I bought myself a bouquet of autumn flowers. I plan to buy a bouquet of flowers every month on the 15th! I'm glad you got your amp Goofy! What kind of music do you play? Daily Stats

Hi Mr. Ed! I'm sorry you feel that way. I have no idea how you do it, but I think your stat lists are truly amazing!!! It is so generous of you to take the time to keep us all informed. I wish I could personally congratulate every one of the awesome quitters right now. For me, at the present time, I'm lucky to get a few minutes to post. My life is all of a sudden so hectic. I feel like I'm behind in all of my responsibilities and obligations and I'm quite stressed. Congratulations Mr. Ed on your remarkable 22 months (20,000+ cigs not smoked)!!! Take Care! JDK Thread #25

Hi Kev! Thanks for the shout out to us new quitters! It is very sweet of you. I used to be quite negative. I've since retrained my way of thinking. Every time I found myself being negative, I would force myself to think of the same thing in a positive way. Eventually I began to automatically see things in a positive light! It may sound dumb, I don't really have a way with words, but it worked for me. I really like your avatar! One of my daughters likes to draw manga and is quite good at it. Congratulations on your awesome stats!!! Octobreathers, how are you doing?

I went to my daughters winter band concert last night, she plays the bari sax. Not once did I think to myself, "when is this going to be over so I can have a smoke"! I truly enjoyed the whole concert! Goofy, my girl likes to play Green Day on her guitar too. Lately she has been really interested in the Beatles! I'm saving a spot on the ships deck for the rest of you Octobreathers! See you soon!!! Wow! So you would like to see the likes of Goofy and I joining in more? Sorry if I'm not...doing it right. I thought joining in 147 times in the past 57 days that I've been a member was OK. And Goofy totally rocks! I love this site and it has helped me so much but I'm feeling kind of weird about it now. Like quitting smoking is so new to me, so is being a member of something like this. I've never communicated with people on the computer that I've never met before, not to mention I've never taken part in an on line public forum. It has been somewhat awkward for me to share here, and I do not feel like I have a way with words, but I've been doing my best to be a positive contributer. I have been more successful in quitting than I ever thought I could be. I owe a lot of my success to this site and I am extremely grateful. Presently though, I feel like crap. Just checking in

Hi Mary! I slept A LOT the first few weeks of my quit. I felt terribly lazy and I got way behind on everything. The members here assured me that it was OK and to let my body do what ever it needs. They told me that it would pass, and guess what, they were right as usual! Hang tough mary, you are doing awesome!
