Introduction and a Hello

Hi. I'm babeyblue and I have decided today (valentines day) to quit smoking. I have smoked for over 30 years and I'm only 42. I thought I would cut down by rolling my own but then I smoked more! So, I have decided I am tired of hearing my lungs sound like percolators and this horrible cough has got to go. I can barely smell anything and everything tastes bad all the time. So here I am. Nice to meet you all and thanks for letting me take the journey with you.

When the family wont help

I told my husband I needed to quit because I am afraid I am going to die. My doctor says I have COPD and my O2 level is very low. I have a horrible cough and I feel sick to my stomache when I smoke. My first day I tried so hard to entertain my brain and excercise to relieve the cravings. But then he went to the store and came back and dropped a pack of smokes on the table because, he says, he doesnt see why he needs to change his habit for one of my whims.....I thought I would have some support from his end but I am still determined.....I will just rely on this site for all the support I can get....babeyblue

false start

Well I slipped so I get to start over...A sleepless night and nothing to entertain my brain with and well I smoked a pack in 9 hours so I will reset the meter and chalk it up to experience...the drinking water suggestion seems to be working for me today..and as I have heard from alot of you it's one step and one day at a time...thank you for all the feedback on my previous posts it really did make me feel better about my decision... :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 51 Amount Saved: $8.4 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 4 Mins: 20 Seconds: 30
