Hello!

I'm a 32 (almost 33) mom in Alberta. My husband and I quite for 4 years then started again almost 3+ years ago. I've regretted the decision since. I've tried quitting quite a few times..whats pushing me now? (1) is my 7 year old..we signed a contract with him that we would quit before school..well I don't want to wait another 3 weeks. (2) I noticed that I haven't been buying anything new for myself or anyone else in fear I may run out of money for smokes...isn't that insane!!! So tomorrow I'm quitting. My hubby is doing it with me too! We are going to use the patch. My biggest fear...ripping someones head off..I seem to get so darn emotional for the first week. I wish I could use Zyban again but alas I was allergic to it :( So this time its the patch. Heres to a new life! Sabina :)

I am scared to Quit!!

Hey Shalia, I too have my quit date set for tomorrow and yes hun I am scared to. But I'm telling myself that I can do it. I know I can. I am sick and tired of being tired and dependant on 25 little things in my pocket. Write down your reasons for quitting..read them ALL day today...just do that and positive thinking. As far as the caffine is concerned, if you must have that coffee..take a book adn find a place outside AWAY from the other smokers. Me...I have decided its okay to sit outside but I'm going to do that...read, play with the kids or just sit and watch the world. Have you got yourself some rewards to look at when you've hit some milestones? Mine....one new piece of clothing per week or cd/movie whatever. Thats going to cost me less than smoking. Where I'm from (not sure if this is a canadian/us board) but my smokes cost me $7.50/day!!! Isn't that crazy? think of what you can do for yourself with that money!! Add me to your buddy list if you want and I'll push you if you push me okay!!! Come on we'll do it together! Sabina :)

Good/Strange Way to Cope

Okay you may find this funny (I do!!). I had my last one @ 1:30 yesterday. Sat at my computer working wondering if it would be okay to blow this quit and just go get some..for 2 more days..you know since I'm stressed and it'll only be two more days then my co-worker will return. Did I? NOPE...got up and started cleaning..MAJOR cleaning. My son came and asked me why I was doing all this scrubbing. WEll honey..its this or smoke. OUt of the mounths of babes comes: "WEll mom next time you need to smoke..my room needs a good cleaning too" LOLOLOLOL I just blankly stared at him and told him "nice try..." Just had to share that all...yeah I'm going to have a clean house by the end of the week!! Prepping for my quit

Good morning all, HELP. I'm prepping for my quit on Monday of next week. I promised myself and my 7 yr old son that I would quit before he went to school again. So here is my question....... What was the one/two things you replaced that "smoke break" with. This is where I have the problems. My thoughts so far are to grab a glass of water and come here. But what other ideas do you have by chance? Thanks all...count downs on nicodemon..its you or me...are you feeling lucky today punk? Sabina

When you quit did you...........

Did you ever doubt your strength. Were your scared. I've been "quitting" now for 2 days and well haven't quit for an entire 2 days. I am a smoker, ex-smoker and restart smoker. Quit for almost 4 years then started again(stupid reasons that I won't even get in to!). Last time I used Zyban and it was easy for me to quit..however, found out that I'm allergic to it but had enough in my system to help. Now I've been trying the patch..but my skin can't handle it. So I'm doubting if I really want to quit (I know I do but am I lying to myself?). If anyone has suggestions on something else I can use I'd be eternally grateful. OH yea I'm in Canada so our products differ....figures LOL Thanks Sabina

craving? , so what ?! , nothing worth while comes easy!!

Our habits have to realize that, like our kids, that "no" is an answer. Thanks for the great tips everyone!

Well I slipped

You know what...your going to make it. You know you goofed. Oh the one puff won't hurt me...ahhhhhh....I lost a 3 1/2 year quit cause my hubby started again and I thought..just one won't hurt me...that was almost 3 years ago. Now I'm fighting the quit again. Thanks for sharing....don't we feel silly when we realized why we did it in the first place? Sabina
