I am scared to Quit!!

17 years ago 0 27 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Feeling like a failure and being one are two different things. What if you exhibited the same behavior but didn't feel like a failure? That would be worse. At least it is giving you the spark to get started. If you have these strong feelings now imagine how positive you will feel when you give up the stupid cigs.

By the way I just noticed the last response from you and all the negative things that you have successfully given up. Congratulations. There is always something hanging over our head but it is the positive strokes that makes us strong enough to see and defeat them. Therefore I know you will defeat Mr. Nicko also. In addition don't spend to much energy looking for the Mr. Prince thing. Trust in yourself and your own achievements. See your success and self worth through eyes that are for and about you. You do not need Mr. Prince to complete yourself. Your already there. I have tried to instill that value in my daughters to see their own self worth through and about themselves and not a guy. Good luck on all of the above. Sounds like you are on track. Let me assure you of one thing...when you have an event in your life that effects you enough, you will not be afraid. You will be glad that you can quit. Just read here all the success stories. Ask yourself, 'do I have the willpower of at least a few of these people?' FDR said it all concerning the WWll and it applies here. 'All we have to fear is fear itself.' I am scare of my own shadow and look at me. A 46 year period of smoking and quit with cessation class and the patches. You can too. If you are religious, get on your knees and pray to your GOD for guidance and that should start you in the right direction. I am with you to the end...as we all are here. the fear is the junky in us....screaming because he forsees his death. whack his head right on off!! It will be better once you actually leap in the water! remember that quitting is merely the "choice" to not smoke.
