Hi, and thanks. I will defenitly wait on the alcohol- dont think
i could drink and not smoke - and your right, being smoke free is
way more important!
Thanks for listening,
Skidoo
Two weeks under my belt - the rest of my life to go!
I have to say that this past weekend was the hardest two
days yet.
Constantly craving the evil weed - not to mention a glass
of red wine which would have been wonderful last night with
dinner - but wine makes me crave a smoke so that has gone by
the wayside for now also. This whole weekend I was in mourning for
the "other" me, the person I used to be.
Has anyone else felt this way?
Yes I'm very proud of my quit but I'm also feeling lost at the
same time.
I think maybe I should have posted this somewhere else - not really
an uplifting message for Stats Parade, sorry folks.

Hi X!
Today at about 11:30am I realized that I had forgotten to
put my patch on! And the voice hadn't been there to remind
me that I need to (put it on),
so yes it gets better!
Cheers,
Skidoo
PS: congrats on your 5 days!

Hello everyone!
I'm off to Calgary tonight for the long weekend. My uncle is celebrating his 75th birthday and his kids are throwing him a bash.
I'm a bit nervous about the trip. I used to live in the mountains and will be hooking up with some friends while I'm out there.
And of course I smoked like a fish the whole time I lived there. I know that 3 of the friends I'm seeing have also quit so that helps. And all bars/restaurants are non smoking so that is a huge bonus.
I know I want this quit more than anything but I'm still nervous.
so here is my weekend pledge:
I will be smoke free, I will be strong, I will breath deeply and stay focused.
Cheers,
Skidoo
Have a super long weekend everyone!!!!!!!!

Hi Nascar,
I can relate to how you are feeling. I find I'm way more
peaceful and pleasent to be around since I quit.
I like you I have way more patients for my children (especially
my 3 year old).
For me I think its because I'm not constantly anxious about when
I can go for my next smoke. I was a bad mom a lot of the time, and I will admit it. I would put my need to smoke over the needs of my kids sometimes. I would rather go outside and have a smoke then play cars!! It was selfish, but hey I was an addict.
Now I have all the time in the world and a clean house too. I feel peaceful like I said and so much happier.
And yeah, my kids are happier too.
Cheers,
Skidoo

Hi Texas!
Welcome to the best support group on line!
We have a lot in common. I too came back on quit number 9?
I think. There have been so many I've lost count. And like you
the last time I quit for over 2 years. I went away on a girls
weekend and thought I could have just "one" smoke. WRONG.
And now here I am again.
I hope you are quitting for YOU and not just for your husband.
I think you know that if youre not quitting for yourself it
will never work.
Hang in there. The day is almost over and it does get better. I
Remember my last quit and getting to the point where I didnt even
think about smoking anymore. You must remember that too?!
Im away for the long weekend but I will check back to see
how you are doing next week.
Stay strong, stay quit!
Cheers,
Skidoo

Hi Jo.
You really need to get rid of those smokes! If you cant
bring yourself to throw them out then maybe you could
get your husband to hide them somewhere - you
will buy yourself some time when the craving gets bad - enough
time to drink some water, take some deep breaths, go back and read
why you want to quit.
You are worth this quit. The hardest day is behind you.
You can do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are all here for you. Everytime you feel an urge, come back here
and post and read and read some more.
It helps.
Stay strong,
Skidoo
Hey everyone!
Us Maybees are slow coming up with a name - I don't know
about the rest of you - but the creative side of my
brain is taking a rest while the rest of my body
goes through the nicotine detox!
There were some good ones mentioned in the last
thread and now I cant remember what they were!
First one to come up with a cool name wins!
