Thanks for all the replies and encouragement everyone!!!!!
So I went from a great day to a hard Sunday night.
I think my children took monster pills laced with caffine -
up too late and miserable to boot. I wanted to smoke soooooooo
bad - but I didnt! YEAH for me.
I think I brushed my teeth a gazillion times yesterday - I find that really helps - and of course tons of water.
Have a good one
Cheers,
Skidoo

Hi Bambi!
Hi Zany!
Congrats on making the choice to quit in MAY!
Just keep putting those days behind you,
and before you know it we will be celebrating one
month together!
The names you came up with our great - I'm kind of
partial to the Extinquishers myself - but I'm flexiable.
Talk to you real soon,
Skidoo
PS. Hi Hummybird! Thanks for the congrats. You just recently
celebrated a year!!!! Thats awesome.
SO just curious - did you spend any of that money
on yourself?

Sounds good to me!
My name is Janet and I'm celebrating one week of not smoking
today!
This whole site is awesome, but it would be nice to connect with quitters who are on the same leg of the journey - so to speak!
It would be fun to pick a name and encourage each other on our way
to the beach!
Hope to meet you soon,
Skidoo

Hello everyone!
And how is your weekend going? I hope the weather is beautiful where you are!
I cant remember the last Saturday
night that I didnt have a cigarette! Or a glass of red wine (just kind of goes together)!
I feel SO GOOD today - so proud of myself. It was a beautiful day here today and we took the kids to the zoo and then spent the afternoon in the back yard bbq'ing. This is usually a huge smoking time for me, because I do the cooking and I only smoked outside - but you know what? I did it!!!!! I made it through.
And another thing - there was a TON of smokers at the zoo today (I noticed them all) and I didnt once feel envious - I just felt happy that I wasnt one of them.
I know its early days and the cravings will still come and I have to be on gaurd, but today was a really really good day.
Its great to be able to share a high with all of you.
Cheers
Skidoo

Hi Rich!
Congrats on making the choice to quit! Day 2 was hard for me also,
and day 3, and day 4 - day 5 it started to get easier.
Just remember ONE DAY AT A TIME!
You can do this. And since you know that day 10 will be especially hard for you you can be prepared. Plan something really special for that day, change up your routine, hang out with some non smoking friends! Do anything that will distract you and help you get through that dreaded day 10!
You can do it - you're already doing it!
Cheers!

I watched Oprah on Monday and Dr. Oz was her guest and they showed some clips from the Discovery program you mention. The woman whom he operated on had been a smoker for over 40 years - he told her that he wouldnt operate until she quit and she did!
Funny how life works, Monday was my quit day and I dont usually have time to watch tv in the afternoon ( I'm usually chasing the kids) but I found time on Monday - and that show and Dr. Oz brought all my reasons for quitting home. Seeing the lung of that woman made my feel sick - and at the same time hopeful. Hopeful that I have time to reverse all the damage.
By the way, her operation was a success and the good doctor said if she eats the right foods and never smokes again she will be around for years to come.
Peace,
Skidoo
