6 weeks today

YEAH!!!!! I have made it to 6 weeks. And believe me the way the weekend went I wasnt so sure that would happen! Why? you ask. Because it was %$^#@ hard! I went down a patch level and my coping skills went right out the window. I found myself standing at the kitchen counter last night just crying - shaking with tears. My poor husband, he asked me what was wrong and I couldnt get the words out (I must have looked quite the mess, shaking, knife in hand - was cutting veggies for dinner - not being able to speak - litterally). So, I went to bed REALLY early - just wanted to get the day over with. This morning when I got up first thing I thought was "I would love a smoke". Now where is that coming from????? It has been 6 weeks and a relatively easy 6 weeks for me - I would have to say that this is really my first major break-down. Why now? And I'm getting it all at once. BItchiness, depression, anger - even the gas is back LOL!! Man I could ramble on all day. Wish I could figure out how the instant messenger works! Some advice would be lovely. Well maybe not advice, maybe support is what I need. Support and some hugs. I just cant stop crying!!!!!!!!! Anyone who knows me would tell you that its not like me at all not to be in control. Ok, the baby is awake I have to go.\ Skidoo My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 42 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 510 Amount Saved: $231 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 17 Mins: 53 Seconds: 51

6 weeks today

Hi Cybrduke!! I get 23 skidoo quite a bit! I dont why Mike (my husband) ever started calling me skidoo - just kind of stuck once he did, he's the type of guy that has nicknames for everyone! Anyways, thanks for remembering me. I'm not here to often, find it hard to find the time to get on to the computer! 'Take care, Skidoo

I smoked.

Thanks for the encouragement Nascar - but I have been quit for 6 weeks. What does that say about me????? Am I not ready? Or am I just stupid? I'm really not sure this morning. Leaning towards stupid. I smoked.

I sent my kids to the neighbours and went back to bed for a couple of hours. Now that my head is a bit less foggy I want to thank all of you for the incredible support you've sent my way. I really needed to read all of those posts. And I read them - many times. Mama your story about the man and the stone, it has been printed out and is sitting beside me as I type this. Thank you for it, I need to build my window. I'm going to take all of the advice and cut myself some slack. Last night I learned that it is way to early in my quit to drink. Period. End of Story!!!!!! I can not be trusted around cigarettes if I have been drinking. I need this quit. I have earned this quit. I have spent the last 6 weeks making this quit happen and I'm not going to stop now!! DO YOU HEAR ME NICODEMON - I'M GOING TO WIN!!!!! SO SCREW OFF! There. I feel so much better after yelling that! I still feel guilty, but that will pass with time. THank you again everyone. You really are the best group of quitters around, and I'm proud to know all of you. I smoked.

Yes. It's true. Last night I went to a staff function at my husbands work. I had to many glasses of wine. I went outside. I had an entire cigarette. I am so angry at myself today. Not to mention how crappy I feel physically. In my head I'm telling myself that it is but a minor bump in the road - BUT - in my heart I have REALLY REALLY let myself down. I can not smoke. I have quit!!! My mother and my father both died of smoking related cancers. I can not follow in their foot steps. I have children who need me. A husband who loves me. I feel sick. Skidoo

I think I am going to smoke!

Hi Sunflower. Please, Please don't take that first drag!!!!!! I did. Last night. Only one - but it was enough to make me feel HORRIBLE today. Physically, emotionally, you name it - I feel HORRIBLE. And you know what? I can't take it back. But I can learn from it. I can post to others who are thinking about it and tell them STOP. DON'T DO IT. It is not worth it. Stay strong. Stay quit. You are worth it. You deserve good health and happiness. Wish someone had said that to me yesterday. I smoked.

Good Afternoon everyone! I'm feeling so much better today. Feeling positive again, and trying to put Monday night in the vault - while still learning from my mistake. It's SOOOOOO much better to let the guilt go - learn from my mistake - and MOVE ON! I have decided to keep my stats instead of starting over. I worked way too hard for those 43 days to let one night and one smoke send me back to square one. I'll tell you something though, I do have pretty strong cravings today. ENTIRELY MY FAULT> that little demon man is in my head but I squach him like a bug. If I had a magic wand I would turn back time and not do it. It just simply was not worth it! I'm going to spread the word to anyone who is thinking about it - HOpe you are reading this Sunflower! It really really doesnt make it any better. On the contrary, it makes it worse. Plus you now have guilt to deal with. So please please anyone who thinks having a drag is the answer DONT DO IT! Keep your quit! We are stronger than this addiction.
