Hardest Day Yet

This has been one of the hardest days yet for cravings, I got the call at 1am this morning that my son was bording the bus that would start his deployment back to Iraq. I knew this was coming soon, but you are never ready for the phone call. I am using the lozenges and I was down to about 3 a day and today I have already used 5, but I have not smoked and I will not smoke. I do not post alot on this site but I am on it almost everyday reading what everyone is going thru and what everyone has accomplished and I have to say it has been so helpful, no one understands like the people on this site, I am so thankful I found this. Sorry for the long rambling, I am just having a hard time concentrating at work and I had to talk about how I'm feeling. Keep up the postings and I will keep reading and gaining support from all of you. Excessive Gas

I am so glad I am not the only one, but this is very bad, I'm sitting here at work and I have to keep running to the restroom. I was on a plan yesterday and my husband thought it was the old woman next to us. I hope this quits soon at times it can be very painful My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/6/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 28 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 851 Amount Saved: $233.8 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 20 Mins: 9 Seconds: 34

I want to know everyones story...if you want to share :-)...

Hi RissaRoo I think sharing is a great idea, so here is my story. First congradulations on 10 days, I see we have the same start date, and since your from Seattle & I'm from Pittsburgh, if you were like me you consumed way to many cigarettes during the Super Bowl (great game) Anyway, like I said I'm now living in Pittsburgh we moved here from Ohio 14 years ago. I am the VP of Finance for a small wholesale company, I have 2 kids my daughter is 25 (and has now moved back in with her daughter who is 3) my son is 21 he's currently in the Marines and stationed in CA. I started smoking in JR High (it was cool to smoke in the 70's)and continued smoking for close to 30 years. I quit because I want to live to see my granddaughter grow up, I want to be able to walk 18 holes when I play golf, I'm tired of waking up coughing, I could go on but I think everyone understands. Well that's my story, thank you for asking and congradulations to you and your boyfreind 10 days and counting. 5 days and counting

Fairy & Yvette keep up the good work, your kids are young so quitting now will greatly reduce the chances of them picking up this gross habit. I smoked for 30 years and both of my kids picked up my horrible habit, do you know how guilty that makes me feel, when your having a bad day try picturing your kids lighting up a cig. maybe that will help. And like everyone has said the cravings do get better you will have good days and bad, the day I signed up on this site I was having a 2 hour obsession instead of a 5 minute craving, and just reading the posting here got me thru it. Keep up the good work!!!!!
