mp99...........I was a closet smoker for more years than I care to admit! LOL I am sure that I did more damage to my health because of all the associated stress attached to having to constantly hide, sneak around, cover up the smell in the house ( can really challenge your creativity...LOL ) etc. than I did from the smoking!! This is debatable, of course. Now, I am free, not only of the demon but, with all the maddness created by my screative behavior. It is still difficult at times...........but, so far I am handleing it. If U would like to share on a one to one , please feel free to email me at the obvious address as I am not able to get the SSC messanger to downolad. Cheers, Pat Oh, and by the way..........I smoked for 36 years.

Hey Chicky............I would like to thank U for getting this topic going! I am FEELING the same things U are saying but, UNDERSTANDING all of the things our comrades are saying. And this is where U have to decide which is more important........satisfying a physical urge which needs to be fed over and over again and will not let U go once U give in to it OR are U going to do the smart thing and be strong and not let this Thing control YOU? U are worth more than that! Thank U so much to all of U Great Survivors for all of your words of inspiration and insight...........without knowing it U have at least helped me to NOT smoke today. Thanks for the positive reinforcement and kind-hearted guidance. Bless You All. Cheers, Pat Hope that someday, I can pass it along to someone in need and keep the Chain of Hope, Help and Kindness going.

The picture your words paint are so vivid I almost feel as though I am there, partly because I HAVE been there. Relating to the fears, isolation and anger is very cathartic for me..............as are so many of the personal posts here. Thank you for taking the time to share. Wishing You Well. Cheers, Pat

Many thanks to all of U for all of the good wishes and constant encouragement............often over these last 7 weeks, I have thought of " rewarding " myself with " just one little ciggie" and then all of U.....your names..........faceless compatriots , and brothers ( and sisters ! ) in arms have stepped forward in my mind and held me back. Staying true to myself and those that care. Rock On..............LOL.

So happy for U Angela.......the "wake up senerio" was what U needed and it seems that it was a "good" one! I am at 50 days and am feeling very snobbish and proud of something that I never thought I could have done! The people here are Great! Always there with words of encouragement, understanding all of the ups and downs that go with this addiction and also, there with a bit of Tough Love when necessary! The Nicotine Police are everywhere on this site so do stay tough and committent or they will throw the net over U and have many ways to keep U quit! Cheers PAT
