Not sure what U mean by " natural licorice but, the licorice I am familiar with has been known to raise blood pressure. Not sure how much U need to ingest to effect BP but it has been documented , it might also, interfer with prescription BP medications for high BP............just making U aware as a possible precaution. Cheers, Pat

penguin and all.......as with most things in this world, I believe that perception and attitude are key elements for success or failure. I smoked for 36 years, a good many of those a closet smoker which creates even greater stresses, which is another story..........and for at least the last 20 years, hated it. For one reason or another, it was never the right time to quit.............U all know the drill...........after this, after that, as soon as I this or as soon as I that.....blah, blah, blah. But, when I finally Felt, Knew, Wanted To and Found reasons and the strength to do it.........I have surprisingly had a very easy time of things. But and this is a a big BUTT...........that inner junkie is still hangin' around and needs some serious Butt Kickin' at times............so TODAY, I am fine but, I will never be so arrogant to think that a slip or relapse can not happen to me, I was, am and always will be an addict......plan and simple. Once U accept this part.............U can deal with it and like cybrduke said...........don't be so harsh with yourself.............pick yourself up , kick Butt and move on. Good Luck and Cheers, Pat

Hello and Congrats Cheerful! I am Pat and one of the original Ash Kickers. We lost our " Leader " Stubow some time ago and need another energetic and compedent Coordinator/Cheerleader/Rablerouser to get us all on the same thread. I vote for our one and only Redrosie who has consistently shown us how to get and keep us together. Our 4 month anniversaries are coming up this week and it is a biggie for me anyway!! Please, Rosie...........SOS...........take the baton and lead us to victory! LOL Cheers and Best Wishes to All, Pat

Thank You, one and all for being couargeous enough to express your honest feelings, knowing that they might be recieved with either support or retort! This shows Great Maturity! LOL I, personally always enjoy the opportunity to explore new ideas..........i may aggre, I may not but, anything which provokes cognitive thought, is in my opinion, positive input and gives way to personal growth. None of you ever dissapoint me. Anything worthwhile is hard work but, attitude and maturity ( by that i mean, seeing things from all angles with an unemotional eye ) are the key, as has been said many times before. Some people never reach this level.............something as straightforward as lack of self worth can hold anyone back. I have seen this in people closest to me.....I am convinced that my own Mom would be here today if only she thought as much of herself as her four children and other loved ones did. But, that's another story. We can only scatter seeds of kindness as we go, hoping they somehow take root. Cheers, Pat

You are truely courageous, Kab.....facing that head-on! I admire your faith in your quit! I could never have done that!!! I had to change my grocery store............maybe some triggers will always be too difficult to overtly deal with and will just need to be avoided altogether. A small price to pay for respiratory sobriety! Cheers, Pat
