Too weak to quit

Ally, the program here is excellent, another site I suggest is www.quitsmokingonline.com (they have a link to this site and that's how I found this place lol) Read through their stuff slowly and with an open mind... it will help you decide if you're really ready, and help you think of it all in a different light.... hope this helps!

only 5 smokes left

I set my quit date for tomorrow b/c I knew I'd still have a few left today... I'm really not feeling the urge to make them last as long as I can or anything like that... I kinda just wanna smoke them all right now and be done with it... and yet know that later I'll wish I hadn't done that LOL.... I've got lots of running around today, and smoking in the car is one of my triggers, so I'm getting a bunch of gum and water and hopefully it won't be so bad.... I'm really excited to become a non smoker, which sounds so weird for me, but I can't wait... and here's the other weird thing... so far I've only told the other smokers in my house... I have a really close family, and I haven't bothered to tell them... but I think that's b/c half of them have the attitude like, if you've tried to quit b4 and you started back up again what makes you think you can succeed this time? and I don't need that kind of thinking right now... after these last 5 I'm DONE... I don't WANT to waste my money, or my life anymore!!!! okies done rambling now! lol Pamala

I'm done!!! woohoo!

well I'm done, and I DID smoke those last four... but I KNOW that if I didn't I would've felt like I'd wasted them and felt regret.. but I feel fine knowing that I'm not going to smoke anymore.. my 4 yr old is so happy lol... she doesn't really get that it's bad, but she knows that when I'm smoking she can't come close to me and all that so now she thinks she can come sit on my lap all the time LOL Pamala 45 minutes smoke free! LOL

I'm done!!! woohoo!

ty Melanie.. I'm actually feeling really great.. I've NEVER once felt this great about not having any cigarettes left.. even when I've quit b4.. I've always been miserable.. but not today! yea! I've had all sorts of running around to do.. and I've got to go out to the bank and grocery shopping soon, but I'm not even anxious right now! however knowing me I'll be popping in and out of this site all night tonight... but I WILL NOT smoke even one more! NOPE! Not One Puff Ever! Pamala - 1 Hour and 13 Minutes smoke free! Life saved:5 minutes Cigs not smoked:1 money saved: $0.18. (not much but I'm excited to watch that all grow! lol)

I'm done!!! woohoo!

hardest thing for me so far is that my bf is a smoker and three different times in the last 4 hrs he lit up right in front of me without even thinking... even after I asked him not too... argh.... but so far no major bugging about it at all.. just little nigglings sorta... like I need something for my hands to do.. so here I am typing.. while he's smoking one b4 we go make some dinner... and he'll probly want one WHILE we cook dinner knowing him.... he's such a chimney... it's always bugged me that he smoked so much... even tho I was just over a pack a day.. he's one that can make it over a carton in a week... but I'm GLAD that I'm not going to be wastiny our money on cigarettes... just wish he'd think the same way... we're about to be broke even tho today was payday b/c of his expenses... cigarettes and some other stuff... I guess he thought that since we weren't spending money on cigarettes for me, he could use it on other stuff for him... :confuse: argh... now I'm complaining.... okies deep breath.... and I'm fine... :p guess I thought that since I was the one saving I should get to have that money.. hmmmm... oh well... I'll probly be back in a couple of hourse... thanks for the posts everyone! Pamala - 5 Hours smoke free! Life saved: 22 minutes! Cigs not smoked: 5 money saved: $0.75.

a couple of ideas...

I've actually taken a few days off work for this.. I can do that b/c I own my own business... I work with customers and I thought that now is NOT the time to talk to people I'm trying to impress LOL... all the things I seem to be doing seem to be working well.. only time I've really felt like I've had "symptoms" of withdrawl (other than hunger) was soon after I woke up the past couple of days... and then most of the day it was just the "habit" I was having a hard time with... another thing is that someone mentioned not skipping meals LMAO I'm someone who rarely eats more than once a day and now I'm eating 3 or 4 meals and I don't understand that at all LOL... hunger seems to be my only major "symptom" or whatever lol.. but I'd rather gain a little weight now and then worry about losing it later than the opposite... I'm approaching the 48 hr mark.... woohoo! Pamala - One Day, 23 Hours and 21 Minutes smoke free! Life saved: 3 hours and 37 minutes! Cigs not smoked: 43 money saved: $7.06.

a couple of ideas...

ty! I'm also doing the gum and mints and water thing.. that's posted everywhere tho and I haven't seen anyone mention a straw lol... oh and I've also got one of those stress balls to play with... if anyone else has any great ideas I'd like to know too! LOL Pamala - One Day, 21 Hours and 25 Minutes smoke free! Life saved: 3 hours and 28 minutes! Cigs not smoked: 42 money saved: $6.77.

a couple of ideas...

it's been one day, and 21 hrs since I had a cigarette... my biggest problem seems to be keeping my hands and mouth busy... I'm finding that chewing on Twizzlers (licorice) and breathing through a straw is helping my cravings... I cut the straw into thirds so it's closer to a 1/2 smoked "cigarette" size.. but that's mostly b/c the full size was actually annoying lol... just thought I'd pass along these two tidbits... I'd rather carry around a piece of a straw for the rest of my life than all the crap that goes along with cigarettes!

update on me!

Today is my 21st day... not done with it yet, but still lol.. okies so about 3 weeks now, and not even wanting one at all.. I'm sooooo proud of myself! I never thought it would be this easy for me! Not only that, but in the process I've been sticking to www.sparkspeople.com (which can help with the weigh gain) and not only have I not gained any weight, but I've dropped 5 lbs! woohooo And to top it all off, my bf decided last week that he was going to "try" to quit, well he left for work before I woke up, BUT I do know he ran out last night, so I'm HOPING he's not bumming at work LOL... but this may turn into a smoke free home yet, so I'm SO excited! and I just wanted to share a bit! *hugs* everyone keep believing in yourself and you can KTQ!
