5 - 0 - Oh!

CONGRATULATIONS ON 500 DAYS, LOLLY!!!!!!!!!!!! I must add my thanks to you for all the help you gave me in my quit. You have been an amazing influence on all of us. Even now - as I read your post. I have not come to SSC for quite some time - the reason - I didn't know quite what to say. NO, I have not smoked, but I really felt that spending so much time on the site was causing me to think about smoking too much. I didn't want to write an honest post because I felt it might cause some newbies to have a problem. However, you were honest - yes, you (and I) still have thoughts of smoking but for the most part we can laugh them off. It just shows that we must always be vigilant and guard our quit. Lolly, I wish you a wonderful smoke-free life and will continue to be grateful for you and all the others here on SSC who helped me to this point - 8 more days and I will have 1 YEAR. duo 365 days!!

CONGRATULATIONS Attaboygirl and Walkingeagle!!!!!!!!!! What a wonderful couple you must be - we are all indebted to you for your commitment to SSC and also to each other. If you hadn't been kind and thoughtful to each other during this quitting process I'm afraid you wouldn't be where you are today. AND we wouldn't be celebrating this great accomplishment with you. Hooray for you!!!!!!!!! New To This.

CONGARATULATIONS SMOKELESS!!!!!!! Twelve days is such a good start. Be sure to stay with the patches as directed. I quit too soon several times, thinking I had things under control but I was WRONG. This time I used as directed and got along fine. Wishing you a happy smoke-free life. (I know the "happy" part will come - it just may take awhile. Stay strong and stay with SSC. Day 2! What do I do?

CONGRATULATIONS MURF ON YOUR DECISION TO QUIT SMOKING!!!!!!!!!!! I almost said you'll never regret it - but that may not be true some of these first days. Just know that in the end you will be so very please with yourself. This is not an easy task but this site can be a life saver (literally). Come here and read, read, read. I spent hours on SSC the first few weeks of my quit. Like we say, cry, scream, kick - just don't smoke. My mantra is Not One Puff Ever - N.O.P.E. Welcome to SSC and be sure to let us know how you are doing. Emphysema

Good morning Cuddles: I'm sorry I didn't see this thread sooner. I don't know if you have read any of my earlier posts but I quit smoking at age 79 1/2. The response of my body, copd, energy, etc. was amazing to me and my doctors. I did have a let down a few months ago and in searching the web for a reason why I was getting worse while taking pulmonary rehab (exercising) I GOOGLED "inhaled glutathione for copd". I found interesting reading and pursued the suggestion. I then took the information to my doctor and pursued the treatment. That was two weeks ago and I have had much improvement. This is just for your information and perhaps you could print out some of my earlier posts to show your mom that even now it might be helpful to quit smoking. My prayers are with you and your family, Cuddles Hugs, Nan My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/18/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 319 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,346 Amount Saved: $1212.2 Life Gained: Days: 39 Hrs: 22 Mins: 7 Seconds: 56

First day

Hi Cindi!! Glad you found the best place to be for help to quit smoking. One thing I would suggest is that you work the quit program on the left. Also, you did not mention if you are using any NRTs. I used the patches and found they helped me. Everyone's quit is different so you have to kinda feel your way and find what is best for you. The first few weeks I came to SSC and read posts by the hour. Then I started posting when I felt comfortable with it. Be sure to start your quit meter 'cause it's fun to watch the days count up.
