Hi Pam,
I know,,,we all know how bad it sucks sometimes :( Sry to hear you're having a tough time these past few days. Guess what,,,me too! I almost posted a few min's ago for help. Just been having subtle and not so subtle wants of instant gratification.
Pam it's not always about what u want when u want it. Sometimes u really need tough love when you really really would rather not have it. It's an addict characteristic to want what we want and want it NOW! "Instant gratification".
Ever been at the store and seen a little kid (emotionally imature), throwing a temper tantrum because they want something and their parent told them NO!
Well...??? Think about it, lol :) :) :)
You & I will make it through this patch of this tough time & WE WILL BE HAPPY WE DID! Like we always are. And we will grow up a little bit more emotionally because...well...that's just what happens each time we deal with our emotions without running away for an escape with a poisen filled lung suffocating stinky killing ciggarette!
We'll make it and be happy we did.
Sorry Pam...tough love,,,u can't have a ciggarette. You've just come to far to turn back now.
You don't have permission to smoke so get over it & OMG so will I :O
It's gr8 you swim. U look like you're not having any type of weight problem from your picture. I'm just getting fatter and fatter and that's what the junkie in me was trying to justify smoking with just a few min's ago before I read your post.
I want u to know that my reply to your post is the new me talking myself out of giving up too :)
We can do this...together :)
Don't forget to say a prayer and ask for help.
No matter what don't lite up...

Hi AlleyAnn,
Nice to make your aqaintance :) Congrats on your choice to quit! WOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!! Deep breathing like Casey suggests will work everytime but u just gotta remember to do it when the goin gets tough :) Lady & Rusty gave u some good advice too. I remember my 1st 3 months I pretty much lived on this site, reading, posting & reading. Remember insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. So you're not going insane after-all b/c you're doing something different,,,quitting :) It's all about growing up emotionally which it sounds like you're doing really good at cuz you're allowing yourself to cry and you're giving your feelings the respect they deserve. A good thing to remember is you are not defined by your feelings cuz they will come and go through you. They're temporary and will come and goooooooo. The important thing is to not let your feelings control your actions :) A good promise to make to yourself is that you'll be honest with yourself & if you ever feel like giving up you'll come in here and post for help 1st. ***See the thread "Group Promise" in the discussion forum :)
Also make sure u take time for yourself,,,maybe a nice hot bath with some candles the next time your baby is napping? Stuff like that :)
Keep close cuz together we can do this!

Just wanted to post that it's been tough to stay smoke-free lately. I think it's based on fear. I'm scared to make the 10yr sober mark on April 25th. It feels like a really big big deal to me and it's just kinda scary. Guess a part of me still is insecure about doing well. Maybe I don't think I'm deserving or just unbelievable that I've actually made it this far. Whatever the reason,,,the good thing is that a part of me feels like the energizer bunny cuz I just keep going and going and going, lol. Sometimes it's hard, sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's unbelievable and sometimes I might even get over-confident but either way I just hang in there and keep going. Sometimes I don't know how but I do. I think part of it is b/c I really believe I could relapse at any minute so I have to stay on top of things.
Tks for letting me share...lol :) :) :)
