Hi Bob,
Yet another great post from a very wise person!!! All of it is so true!
I found I was hopping from one stepping stone to another very quickly during the early part of my quit, but all the effort paid off in the end. Now I am moving onwards at a more sedate pace.
Remaining positive throughout, (hard as it was,) was also a winning solution, and if you can't make it "Fake it" I say.
Love to you and Roxy.
Carol/Lolly. :)

Hi Faithfreedom,
Welcome to the site. It is a great place isn't it?! You sound as if you are really heading towards that place called Real Freedom. I love your name...if you carry on with that faith that you will win, you will do it!!!
Like you, my grand daughter was my inspiration, and that is why I am called Lolly. She is very proud of her grandmamma now she is old enough to understand what I did, after 40 years of smoking. She also was 2 years old when I quit.
Stay strong my friend! Come in and post often....it helps you and it helps others. Think of Faith often and gain the reward of Freedom!
Never Look Back, The Future is Ahead.!!!
Lolly. :)

Hi Vurtgamecat,
Is it really sunny in Wigan?!!! Only kidding! Welcome to the SSC.
If you don't mind, I'll not wish you luck, as it will be your determination and not luck which will help you on this journey. I will wish you a really positive outlook on the road, and a strong will to fight the battle and win!
Do visit this site often. Read, post and learn all you can. Knowledge is power over the addiction.
I love the idea of the money box. That will be a huge reward on your 1 year anniversary! Jusr remeber how important it is to reward yourself regularly with small treats as you reach your personal goals...it is very important in the quitting process.
WHATEVER IT TAKES, JUST DON'T SMOKE!!!
Lolly. :)

HI All,
I was just going to let this thread die a natural death until I saw more replies.
Thank you all so very much for the kind words. I must make a mention of my friend and mentor BONDCHASER! Without his coat tails to hang on to, I would not have made it. Thanks BC!!! I was so pleased to see your name!
Everyones' replies have meant the world to me, and I am very humbled by the responses.
Love to all,
Lolly. :)

Hi Tony,
When you look at some stats of 'oldies' like me, the idea of being quit that long seems impossible. I remember being in awe of people who had long quits, and I also wondered how they felt....
Well, for me, after 40 years of smoking, it was an enormous life change. I was just explaining to someone the other day that I had never been an adult without a cigarette in my hand until this quit. That's a scary thought! I had a lot of 'growing up' to do... I had to learn to control my emotions, to learn anger management, to cope with weight gain, to organise my life differently and on and on....it was huge!
BUT...I have also regained my self-esteem, felt a new sense of power within me at the massive task I have completed, feel such a wonderful freedom in my life to begin again.
My only regret is that I wasted those 40 years, but I live true to my Mantra...
NEVER LOOK BACK, THE FUTURE IS AHEAD!!!
Lolly. :)

Hi KiwiKeith,
This is a great step in your quit...one to celebrate in big style! Have yourself a rerward topday for that!
This is when you can believe that it does indeed get so much better! You are beating that demon!
Just stay aware, as the Nicodemon is sneaky and will return some days with a vengeance that you won't believe. Just hang in there, fight it off, and you will win.
You are doing great !!!
Lolly. :)
