patch question

Hi Gonnadoit, When I quit here in Europe a while back, the only UK patches I could get were the ones you mention...21mg, then 14mg, then 7mg. They were GREAT! I followed the instructions and also used then for a full 12 weeks on my doc's instructions....more then the packet said! Do you feel worried about the 3 stages? Anyway, they worked and did what they are meant to do....they helped me to deal with many of the physical withdrawals, while I screamed my way through the other aspects of quitting. What I'm saying is.........they will help you, BUT your quit is YOURS! Try to keep as positive as possible: Prepare with the help of the programme on this site: post lots here and learn about how you can handle the craves: be totally detemined to win the war against Nicodemon and GO FOR IT! It's not an easy ride, but it is doable! If I can do it after 40 years, you can too. WHATEVER IT TAKES, JUST DON'T SMOKE!!! You are GONNADOIT!!! Lolly. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/25/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 659 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 23,085 Amount Saved: 3295 Life Gained: Days: 91 Hrs: 18 Mins: 28 Seconds: 14

Allen Carr dies

ROS!!! Great to see you again. I heard about Allen Carr. I only read one of his books after I quit. Like you, I found the keys quoted here at SSC to be my inspiration. Thanks for the kind words on my Stats thread. Yes, I remember Rome as if it was yesterday. A great reward for us both. If you are going to be in the Carcassonne area of France, let us know. (Lollypop says 'Hi' to you both.) When does it feel natural?

Hi Windy, So many people ask this question at various points in their quits. We'd be very rich if we knew the answer!!! You are doing all the right things at this stage in your quit. It's so important to remain on guard, but let me give you the hope you must be feeling you need...... You mention wanting to make the 'natural choice' instead of a conscious choice not to smoke. What will eventually happen for you is that you will not need to make any choice at all, and it feels as if you have never smoked. That is the really wonderful time...when you realise you have not thought about smoking at all first for an hour or more then for a day and so on. It's a gradual process though and takes a different amount of time for each person. Just carry on as you are... fight the fight when you must, and just relax into the control you have over your life now. The reward of feeling 'natural' about it will be yours in time. NEVER LOOK BACK, THE FUTURE IS AHEAD. Lolly. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/25/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 730 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 25,566 Amount Saved: 3650 Life Gained: Days: 101 Hrs: 15 Mins: 6 Seconds: 54

Fagashlynne has one month!

Hi Lynne, Thanks for your Congrats on my post. I say an enormous CONGRATULATIONS to you on your first month. It is these first anniversaries that are soooo important. You MUST acknowledge them, reward yourself, and say "Damn I'm Good!!!" It is a huge thing you are doing, but as you go on it will be easier I promise. You sound like a winner to me. Lolly. :) (A Brit living in France.)
