Whether or not you can see how your present situation is serving you or where it may lead, know that you are exactly where you are supposed to be. Trust that your soul knows where you're headed even if you don't.
That is so relevant for me right now. Thank you Duffis for your sage words of wisdom! Crave the Quit! Duffis Thanks Your post brought to mind one of my favorite quotes, from Max Ehrmann ..."Whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should ..." Happy Holidays to you. Have a lovely smoke free day today. The first snow of the season beginning to fall. MMMMM another day of firsts. I think I will just let them happen. I am beginning to learn that the joy of success is the journey it takes to achieve it. The experience along the way is what makes us who we are today. Another great post from a great quitter. Thanks! Cigarettes Not Smoked

For several months I have preached on having a positive attitude to obtain a goal. Becoming a non smoker involves a change of lifestyle, attitude, growth and self worth. For some of us this evolution has been somewhat easy while others have found it very difficult. All of nature is in a continual state of growth and evolution. We are no different. Each stage in our personal evolution paves the way for the next. Each stage prepares us for the next challenge, the next opportunity, the next expression of our being. Whether or not you are enjoying your current situation, know that you are just passing through on your way to the next level - the next stepping stone - on the journey of your quit. Stepping stones are found in all areas of endeavor quitting smoking, our careers, our relationships, our emotional and spiritual development. It's often difficult to see our direction in the midst of the journey, but if we could look back on our lives and watch them unfold from a higher vantage point, the direction of our growth and the connection between one experience and the next would be clear. Perhaps you acquired a skill at a casual job or through a hobby that later allowed you pursue a meaningful career. Perhaps a difficult event such as a serious illness or the death of a loved one propelled you to search for deeper meaning and understanding. Perhaps you have attempted to quit smoking and failed yet are trying again. These are examples of life's stepping stones. As we follow our path, we often revisit the same issues, but from a higher, wiser place each time. We can track growth by identifying situations we've faced more than once and noting that each time we handled them a bit better. Whether or not you can see how your present situation is serving you or where it may lead, know that you are exactly where you are supposed to be. Trust that your soul knows where you're headed even if you don't. And trust that your stepping stones are leading you exactly where you need to go. Hi Bob, Yet another great post from a very wise person!!! All of it is so true! I found I was hopping from one stepping stone to another very quickly during the early part of my quit, but all the effort paid off in the end. Now I am moving onwards at a more sedate pace. Remaining positive throughout, (hard as it was,) was also a winning solution, and if you can't make it "Fake it" I say. Love to you and Roxy. Carol/Lolly. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/25/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 737 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 25,818 Amount Saved: 3685 Life Gained: Days: 102 Hrs: 15 Mins: 10 Seconds: 8
