RIP Mr A. Carr. Extract from the last page of his book "Easy Way to Sto Smoking": - Never doubt your decision never to smoke again. You know it's the correct decision. Peace, nmc My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 97 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 970 Amount Saved: $485 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 0 Mins: 34 Seconds: 47

Ros, It's SO good to see you!!! You have been missed greatly! Glad to see you're doing well with your life and your quit. Yes, that is terrible news about Mr. Carr. I never read his book, but I have seen many on here who have and say that it is the reason that they are still quit. With his ingenious method of telling people to keep smoking while they read the book (otherwise MANY people wouldn't even attempt to read the book out of guilt), he managed to help millions of people successfully quit smoking. What a man! Rest in Peace Mr. Carr knowing that you will never be forgotten. Crave the Quit! He was my inspiration when I quit. It is well worth reading 'The EasyWay to Stop Smoking' even if you are already quit what a great man Mr Ed My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 289 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,686 Amount Saved: 2167.5 Life Gained: Days: 48 Hrs: 6 Mins: 36 Seconds: 17

Respects to Mr Carr. I read his book and it helped me enormously. I know that without him and his work I wouldn't be a non-smoker today. For those of you who don't know him and his work read his book - it helps so much and really throws a different spotlight on smoking. It's inspirational and empowering. May he rest in peace. Well hello Ros~ My 'cheese closer' teacher ;) U have been missed. Allen Carr too, will be greatly missed. *so Sad to hear this news* I remember reading his book and being amazed at his assertion that smoking is less addictive than is commonly assumed, that withdrawal symptoms are actually created by doubt in the mind of the ex-smoker, and that stopping smoking is not as traumatic as is commonly assumed if that doubt can be circumvented. His contention was that fear of giving up is what causes the majority to continue smoking. I found that to be true for me. Hi Ros.......ditto what Lady said :) You were a big influence during the early days of my quit. Your common sense approach struck a chord with me and I always read your posts. There are a handful.....you know who you are......that I'm glad were there when I quit. I read allen Carr online and, for me, was the myth buster. He exposed so many lies the big tobacco companies had brainwashed us to believe. So do you think he's the father of this anti smoking movement? God rest his soul. Holy smokes, 100 cigs a day? (pun intended) NOPE, Janet My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 494 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,897 Amount Saved: $2470 Life Gained: Days: 65 Hrs: 6 Mins: 14 Seconds: 53
