...And what better way to distract yourself than with a big ol' REWARD??
We tend to get lax with the rewards in the second month and really, you have a LOT to celebrate! Not only have you been quit for over TWO MONTHS you have left behind the Zyban along with the other smoking paraphenalia. That is an enormous accomplishment rG.
Don't let these cravings rob you of the pride that you have earned. Did you ever think that you would make it this far? Try to remind yourself of some of the benefits and freedom you now have and let those carry you through this. It will pass before you know it.

Newbies take heart!
My first quit lasted 9 days. I thought if I made it 10 days on this "try" I'd be satisfied. WOOPS, look what happened. :8|:

Rainne,
That is AWESOME! It's those really tough things that will give you the positive reinforcement to make it through the next. Your attitude is great too and that makes all the difference.
What day are you on now?

Breaking Free and Brick Wall,
It's great to see you two trudging through this together - it definitely is NOT easy. Don't throw anything at me for saying this but it is actually a good thing that all these emotions are welling up.
You are moving into a sort of deeper level in your quits. All of the early accomplishments are great - getting back your energy, sense of smell, sense of pride, the empowerment, and the obvious health benefits. Then you move into the gooier emotional stuff and let's face it that is never pretty. But you can't get rid of the darkness without pulling it into the light.
This is a very uncomfortable time and I remember it well. This was the hardest part of the quit for me. It was by far the most important and the most rewarding though. I cannot tell you how much I learned about myself and how it gave such clarity to my actions and thoughts. I lived to tell about it and I think you two might also. ;p
Here are some pearls of wisdom,
Anger and Quitting Smoking that helped me a lot. Hopefully things are better today? Maybe a little?
Hang tough,
Sandra

Angel,
You have gotten some outstanding advice! All I can add is this thread called "Missing my left arm".
Start a list of all the things you DON'T like about smoking and all the reasons why you want to quit. Until your quit date, try to see each cigarette clearly and what it is doing to you. Shortening your life, strengthening your addiction, smelling up your hair and clothes. Yuck.
If you want to, you CAN do this.

Dave,
Glad to hear that you are back on track today. Sounds like you've got a pretty good game plan and ample motivation. You might want to check out other posts from fellow former dippers as I know there is sage advice in those. Also, the online quit program may help to give you some extra pointers.
As far as the large part of you that doesn't want to quit, maybe a list of reasons TO quit would help. Then you can take a look at it when it seems like a better idea to chew. Also, this post Addiction: The ultimate indulgence is pretty interesting. Just substitute "cigarette" for "chew".
You CAN do this!

You are all racking up the days and should be very proud!
I noticed that none of you have joined in the Monday Stats Parade to strut your stats. It's for everyone from 1 Day to 1,000,000 but if you'd rather just poke your heads in here and let everyone know how you are...
GREAT JOB Y'ALL
